I make my dreams come true ๐คฃ. Yesterday I had a summer birthday bbq because my birthday is in December. With a cake and all. Make your life what you want it to be.
A woman on the train standing in front of me. Kept looking back at the man behind her ( a stranger) he was standing unnecessarily close to her. But he ignored her uncomfortable look backs. So I ask her if she was okay. She said yes but I made more space for her next to me.
Did you know that the steel pan was created in Trinidad because African drums were banned in the Caribbean during the enslavement of African people. They tried to strip away our identity, in the face ugliness creativity and a love for music and dancing could not be stifled.
The man abruptly gets off the train at the last minute after I checked in with the woman. Me and an older lady then make eye contact, and we both understood. Anyway pay attention to whatโs happening around you and donโt stay silent.

Cuba has one of the best healthcare systems in the world and the university of West Indies is ranked in the top 5% globally. The Caribbean also has free healthcare. So I donโt understand this at all.
When I was in St Lucia on a raft going down the river thereโs was a group in canoes. The leader of that group asked me where I was from as we passed and in my very British accent I said Guyana and Jamaica, and he said welcome home. That is how you interact with the diaspora.

No, the slave trade has gone largely due to rebellions of those enslaved. And the effects of the slave trade are still felt today. Reparations are due! We are not Spanish and their royals are not trying to visit. Focus on the facts.

Me and my partner are looking at places to staycation and we both had serious anxiety about not only going somewhere as a black couple but also as a black queer couple. So I need some lgbt and multicultural friendly places in the UK other than Brighton. Are there any?

Itโs two sides to of a coin. And the coin is white supremacy. Both lighter and darker skinned people are dehumanised by it because of either proximity or distance to whiteness. But one is colourism and one is hypersexualisation/fetishisation. They are linked but not the same.

Nah sis is right, how can you play mas and not like Soca? Itโs not a party itโs MAS! The confusion is very much justified.
To my future friends. If you ever have a wedding, birthday party, christening etc. on carnival Sunday or Monday. Iโm not coming, and clearly you donโt want me to either.
Carnival has been infiltrated by capitalism. Itโs no longer about our history and masquerade for the most part. Itโs about making as much money as possible, whilst sprinkling in colourism featurism, hypersexuality and texturism. That is the reality unfortunately
When I was 19-20 I dated this guy. He asked me if I would date a guy with children I said no and gave my reasons. He got visibly annoyed I said why are you mad? You have no children. ๐ฉ anyway one day a few months later he started moving stressed and anxious..

Hmm do people harbour resentment for that role or is the love and care not being reciprocated. Itโs feeling neglected and unsupported that builds the resentment however they can always leave too.
