Freddy Peralta is averaging 95.1 mph effective velocity with 19.2" IVB and a Vertical approach angle of -3.71°. That's absolute carnage, and why the Mets only have one hit so far

Josh Adamczewski is too advanced for complex ball. He's not even getting a chance to hit because he's just too advanced with his plate discipline. 27.4% of PA's are resulting in a walk or HBP, ridiculous numbers

A sneak peak of the article, but Sal Frelick's exit velocities were seriously hampered by his thumb injury. The kid has more juice than we realise, and this could be a huge season for him. Expect him to turn on inside pitches a ton.

The Brewers have a maximum of $3,788,720 to tempt Levonas from his Wake Forest commitment and the offer is likely sitting with him at the moment to think on but apparently its not looking promising. If they lose out on him they'll have $2,500,580 to go mad on their day 3 picks

Interesting points from the Brewers ACL game: The Brewers faced Justin Chambers (he of the Bryan Hudson trade) and chased him out of the game with 4 earned runs and not a single out recorded. Josh Adamczewski debuted, a 15th round high schooler who went 2-4 with 2 doubles

Also re Levonas. As an overslot, if the Brewers don't sign him they will have money elsewhere to spend but lose the $1.2m slot money. And given the talent of next years class, that No. 68 pick plus the two Comp A level picks could be very valuable in both the bonus pool and picks

Ernesto Martinez Jr - 6' 6" athletic first baseman, Martinez is a late bloomer that has started to destroy Double AA. Plus defense at first base alongside an 80% contact rate, more BB vs K's and 7 XBH .380/.506/.549

Joey Wiemers exit velocities today : 97.7 mph fly out 108.2 mph ground out 105.7 mph double The contact quality is there, now he needs to show he can continue to elevate the ball well when he does square it up. Either way, positive signs with a very different set up

Any trade involving Letson and Boeve would be relatively big, Letsons has been standout so far in Low A while Boeve has incredible bat to ball skills. Definitely something to keep an eye on, but Letson isn't going to be a meh 3 month rental trade

It’s been oddly quiet after Brewers scratched Mike Boeve and Eric Brown Jr from last nights AA game. Bishop Letson was also scratched from his Single-A start. Not sure if it’s coincidence or not, but I’m curious if a trade is in the works.

That's an arm to watch. Bryan Hudson is a prime example of a Brewers pickup going off, and Blalock has some quality offerings worth harnessing if he can stay off the IL

A dislocated shoulder basically, this can sap power. It makes it ten times more baffling that Chourio isn't playing a hell of a lot more often

Pat Murphy said they took Sal Frelick out tonight because he’s still dealing with a bit of a shoulder subluxation. Frelick said afterwards nothing happened to worsen it during the game and he didn’t ask to be removed.

@upnext4brewers @CandidCubs I completely agree, Frelick still pounds the ball into the ground and doesn't make enough quality contact (plus a lot of whiffs for a contact hitter) so I wouldn't be surprised to see him or Mitchell in AAA for a bit

Jackson Chourio may be starting to adapt. Since 6th May: Squared Up 39% of swings (⬆️10%) Avg EV 88 mph (⬆️2.3 mph) Whiff Rate 22.2% (⬇️8.4%) Chase Rate 28.2% (⬇️7.1%) Not there yet, and I'm still looking post ASB at least for plus offensive production, but positive signs

Abner Uribe has been using his sinker up in the zone after appearing to ditch his rapid four seamer (reached 103.3mph last year) and as a result the sinker has been hit much better so far. How this will impact him in the closers role, and is it just a SSS issue @brewer_fanatic

Abner Uribe’s four-seam fastball had outstanding results in 2023, but he seems to have shelved it in 2024. Will this help or hinder him as a closer?

I'm so here for the Brewers basically saying they've got the best pitching development around and taking exciting, young prep arms (albeit not the top ones like Caminiti/Charlee soto). Levonas and Meccage both seem to have really exciting profiles for HS players

So intriguing. @jasonwang7517 killed this, Chourio has such high ceilings in a variety of areas, the bat speed is other worldly. He's not the finished article yet however, and that definitely brings with it a level of caution for this season

The Brewers have around $3.8m to sign both DeBerry (signed but bonus not mentioned) and Levonas, this may just be enough to sign Levonas but it would also severely impact their chances of signing their later round picks. The Brewers may be weighing all of this up atm
