Bellinger at 80% of what he was for this team last year is still a star the Cubs lack. If Morel is at 3B, you can get JD Martinez to destroy Wrigley gaps at DH. Then you have positional flexibility to work in young kids. Also, Belli's contract doesn't take you out of Soto.

I feel this so much. It is the fan in me that is inpatient, while also knowing the lack of news is good for 2 reasons: 1.) Jed has run an extremely tight ship rumor wise. It is pretty impressive given the way media is. 2.) They are busy deep sea fishing, which is so exciting.

The front office for the Cubs have so many avenues to take to address the 2024 Cubs which explains the wide interest in free agents and players via trade. There is a lot of irons in the fire now we wait to see what path the Cubs end up going with.

@Michael_Cerami I was just looking at that. His strikeout rate isn’t bad in that run either, it’s just really bad contact quality when he is hitting it. Eye test has shown some unusual aggression early in counts.

@MATrueblood All they have done is win and make the playoffs all 4 of the last 5 seasons, with winning records each season. This is the longest stretch of winning baseball in the franchises history. Swing and a miss, man.
