Anubandham (Malayalam, 1985) directed by IV Sasi is a film that leaves you thinking. A school master (Mammooty) comes to a village. He meets his old student Sunanda (Seema), now a struggling widow and single mom in poverty. (1/n)

A friendly reminder that you are always evolving as a reader. You don’t have to justify or feel ashamed about it. I don’t agree with some of my old reviews. I also wish I had not read some books but picked others in the time I read them. But that’s always how it is going to be.
I don’t know why I am thinking about this - but how ironic is it that when a young mother is widowed and decides not to re marry people say ‘she did it for the children’ and a man in the same position is encouraged to remarry and when he does ‘he did it for the children’
In 2021, I have no time for people who are arguing audiobooks aren’t real books, dissing book photography, looking down upon genre fic, book snobs, ppl with rules on what is the right way to talk books on social media.
I love the part where Anup*ma Chopra says “Post Bahubali ...regional is the new national” and Vijay Sethupathi does a deeep sigh for all of us. I felt that.

I can never remember character names in books (or movies as a matter of fact). So I often have to go to Goodreads and look them up before writing a review because otherwise I’d be saying ‘that boy, a man, wife’s friend, villain guy’ and SO ON
