ROLE OF AFN IS NOT SPECULATIVE
The role of the Armed Forces of Nigeria is not under any speculation. We have countlessly reiterated that the AFN is constitutionally vested with the responsibility to act in aid of civil authority when called upon to do so.

Gen David Ejoor's Interment still ongoing.
Born 10 January 1932, Major General David Ejoor was the first Nigerian Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) and was once administrator of the now-defunct Mid-Western Region. Ejoor was the governor of the Mid-Western State.
It is untrue for officers in the frontline to be involved in corruption alleged against them by some unscrupulous elements. Their purpose is to distract & destroy their fighting spirit. Nigerians with good conscience must rise up & condemn this trachery against our father land.
2. the military is doing everything to rescue Major General Alkali from his abductors. Let me also confirm that the Alkali family has described the report as baseless and not worthy of audience.

The legitimacy of the role of AFN in the elections is enshrined in Sec 217of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.Our deployments have been supportive & complimentary to the lead security agency, the NPF in the security architecture of the elections

@thecableng
If this statement is truly coming from INEC, then it is most weird. The AFN that defended democracy in Namibia, restored Civil government in Sierra Leone and Liberia cannot truncate a democracy that it had supported since 1999 by indulging in rigging. AFN is not partisan.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF REMEMBRANCE AND TRIBUTE TO VICTIMS OF TERRORISM
Today, the AFN proudly remembers all military personnel who have participated and those currently deployed in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria for their sacrifice.Thank you for defending our nation.
@thecableng
Responsible institutions must be prepared to take responsibility for organisational successes as well as set backs.That's exactly what the AFN is doing . High powered committee already investigating election allegations and reviewing the conduct of personnel. Not shifting blames.
@thecableng
Since 1999, AFN strived to provide national security environ that fostered Nigeria's democracy by defending her against external aggression/protecting her territorial integrity/providing aid 2 civil authority in dire internal security situations & never interfered in governance
The Armed Forces of Nigeria is participating in an ongoing stakeholders engagement organised by NOA on the topic: Evaluating the Application of the Freedom of Information Act and its Impact on National Development.
@thecableng
The AFN has subordinated it's self to civil authority since 1999 till date and will never do anything that will truncate democracy in Nigeria.
@thecableng
Based on threat analysis and request by INEC, AFN supported INEC by conducting several air lifting of sensitive electoral materials to areas that were prone to political violence before and during the elections. Is this what INEC calls rigging?
