Games matter. About me: I work in academia (games researcher, Dr. in comp. science) and do Tarkov content as a hobby. Working on my own game (EA in '25).
"Tarkov Tips" is and always will be free, I try to create as much useful stuff as I can in my spare time.

The AK-104 is usually <30 K on the flea, so here's a budget-friendly decent-looking build for it.
Overall price is around 100K (w/o scope), build details below. Don't forget to like/share if you want more posts like this.

After dying often enough on Ground Zero, Therapist will have mercy & give you the "Beneath Streets" task, which incentivises trying Map-to-map travel.
The rewards are more than great, so grab some friends and sneak into the Labs. Surviving is not mandatory.

Dear
@bstategames
,
I think I speak for the majority of Tarkov PvE players when I say we’d love to have Ref access one day :)
Thanks for considering!
(yeah we feel a bit left behind, somehow)
This build comes with very high ergo and uses only (kinda) cheap parts from the flea market (-> no high lvl traders needed).
Details below.
#EscapefromTarkov
The silenced UZI costs only 30 K if you use the Mechanic lvl 1 barter for one inseq wrench.
Note: Selling the UZI back to Mechanic nets you 15 K in profit.

Keeping a handguard in your pouch allows looting good attachments—even if you die. Goliaf (Mechanic lvl 1) or XRSU* are some examples.
#EscapefromTarkov
@bstategames
* don’t forget to put it on a gas tube, otherwise it takes two slots.
Apart from docs cases and keychains, there are a few more ways to extend the factual size of your secure container.
For instance, you can put a handguard into ur pouch and use it as an attachment holder.

Why I like this flea-based HK build:
- nostalgia
- more cost-efficient than M4 if you don't have high-lvl traders
- no need to mess with gas block / handguard
- ready for canted sights (ACOG + DeltaPoint is love)
- ...nostalgia
#EscapefromTarkov
real talk: this one is crazy good and costs you almost nothing (3x weapon parts barter). The high ergo/low recoil allow using it similarly to a well-built SR-25.
Short video & build below!
#EscapefromTarkov
another shortcut for customs. getting on top of the red container allows to quickly reposition into three different areas: gas station, railroad, and warehouse.
#EscapefromTarkov
Looking for a full-auto weapon that is easy to control, not too expensive, suppressed, and easy to build even without high-lvl traders? This one might be a good fit.
#EscapefromTarkov
@bstategames
One of my fav MCX builds right now. Very surprised how good the gun performs with the new recoil.
Ammo prices fluctuate a lot. Price tips: M62 (36pen,54dmg) if <900, CBJ (43pen,58dmg) if <1.1K. Fillers: BCP/V-Max.
Check our discord (link below) for details.

@nikgeneburn
A “swap to Arena” button in EFT, similarly how we can swap between PvP and PvE.
Would motivate ppl to play a quick round while their mates are still in raid.
The “XRSU47SU” handguard occupies only one slot in your secure container if used with the gas tube. The guard acts as an attachment holder and allows “collecting” lots of lasers, scopes, and even a grip during the raid.
#EscapefromTarkov
I’m sure BSG were well aware of the amount of backlash they would get from almost all the creators that made the game popular.
Yet they did it and released this p2w debacle.
Which leads to the trivial question: why? Just greed or very serious financial issues?
If you're a fan of eco-friendly 5.56 builds, consider the MDR. It is easy to control in full-auto, even w/o pricy mods. The reason is the comparably low rate of fire and excellent base stats.
#EscapefromTarkov
@bstategames
Don't forget to share it if you're an MDR enjoyer 💙
in case you didn’t know: instead of buying Scav Vests on flea (20+ K), grab a Slickers (8-9 K) and use the Jaeger lvl 1 barter instead.
#EscapefromTarkov
#Tarkov
Why you should get the Beluga key for Streets:
- cheap (40 K)
- great view on the main street for sniping
- spawns BTCs and other valuables (table, check under the docs, the items are often "invisible")
- kitchen nearby, nomnomnom
#EscapefromTarkov
Next build of the "Style Matters" series. Not too expensive and definitely unique-looking! Means it probably won't come back in insurance ;) Details are below, share it with ur friends if you like the Adar 💙
#EscapefromTarkov
@bstategames
PMC AI: from what I’ve seen and heard, the AI is basically from rogues/raiders. PMC bots are more or less stationary (they don’t “raid”) with rogue-like loot and random dogtags/levels.
dev effort: 1/10
realistic behavior: 1/10
price: 100€
PvE and PvP fleas are separated.
Sometimes it’s a good idea to invest some money into this “attachment holder” 😉
#EscapefromTarkov
. Thanks to my friend
@tarducks
for the great input ❤️
Tarkov has more keys than locks on the Hohenzollern bridge in Cologne, so here’s a little overview for Customs.

@bstategames
pros:
- gun usually <50 K
- ...means nobody loots it
- 60 ergo once you got gunsmith 15 (->foregrip)
- 20-rounders with SP-5 are so cheap that you always bring enough into raid
- 70 dmg allow for leg meta if opponents have good helmets
(cons below)
#EscapefromTarkov
Looking for a cost-efficient sidearm with top tier ammo? Try out the SR1MP. Its BT rounds are superior to the alternatives, and the pistol can be obtained for just a single blue gunpowder from Prapor lvl 2!
#EscapefromTarkov
@bstategames
This is how I like my AKM for Punisher 1 as soon as I‘ve got lvl2 traders unlocked. Slightly under 100K and not entirely trash in full-auto. Details below.
#EscapefromTarkov
about to cross an open field or entering a potentially dangerous area? using a painkiller for prophylactic reasons is not a bad idea 😉 (as there’s no drug addiction in the game yet).
#EscapefromTarkov
the korund is one of the cheapest class 5 armors and available “already” at Prapor lvl 3. it has the lowest effective durability of all t5 armors and a severe movement penalty. on the other hand, it repairs quite well, so it’s usually worth to ensure it.
#EscapefromTarkov
This one was a rather overlooked GP coin barter at Mechanic lvl 1. Now you need a few coins more to get such a modded AK-104.
#EscapefromTarkov
@bstategames
Need some cash in
#tarkov
? Buy flash drives on the flea (usually 47-57 K), barter three of them for a dogtag case (Jaeger 1), and sell the case to Therapist for 195 K!
#EscapefromTarkov
And hop into our 😊
I'm sure the comment section will be flooded with Obdolbos 2 hate 🥲
Nonetheless, some of you might find this helpful, so here we go! My take: know ur tools. There are situations where Obd2 is more than enough 🤷♂️
#EscapefromTarkov
one of the easier Lighthouse quests to start with. don’t forget the painkillers and maybe a dose of zagustin before starting the sprint pf your life.
#EscapefromTarkov
hello I made a video.
reasons to watch:
- less than 3 minutes
- you might like it
- more people will see it, I become a yutuber or something
#EscapefromTarkov
need the Shift grip for gunsmith 6? it’s quite overpriced on the flea; instead, you can barter the MPX from Mechanic and take its Shift grip!
So what part of “gunsmith” are you working on now?
#EscapefromTarkov
@bstategames
Here's one of many solutions for "Gunsmith 1"; the only component you can't buy at lvl 1 traders is the muzzle combo; fortunately, many Scavs have this device on their Shotguns!
And what's your progress in this quest line?
#EscapefromTarkov
PEEKING (a thread). Case 1: ADS. Here's a situation photographed from both perspectives at the same moment. Right peek player will be able to shoot/kill first in this scenario... [1/2]
#EscapefromTarkov
@bstategames
The school building in the western part of the Streets map (next to the museum) is an excellent place to fill your Scav's pockets!
There are tons of duffle bags on the second floor (hallway + classrooms).
#EscapefromTarkov
Need a suppressed AKM for sneaky plays? Magnets are usually cheap early-wipe, and two of them give you the 7.62 Rotor at Mechanic lvl 2.
#EscapefromTarkov
Don’t forget this abandoned house on woods. This is where you can find all your top-tier 5.45/7.62 ammo.
Also: how is your squad calling this place?
#EscapefromTarkov
want to modify your stock M700 a little bit for some additional ergo and a better look? this (flea-based) build might serve as a first inspiration for you.
#EscapefromTarkov
some stats from a poll I ran last week. quite interesting that Lighthouse is skipped by so many players despite its novelty and loot opportunities.
@bstategames
#EscapefromTarkov
big W news:
- PvE included in EOD (rollout in waves)
- mod support for PvE after release
- balancing of p2w aspects
- removal of priority matching idea
- (imo, most importantly) an apology and acknowledging the mistakes
#EscapefromTarkov
Worried about expiring insurances? As a rule of thumb, always collect your smelly old clothes starting in the bottom right corner.
#TarkovTips
#EscapefromTarkov
- armor plates show compatible armors now
- lots of fixes, including "forbidden" vaulting
- snow gone
- seems that "awaiting session start" bug visits us again (4/4 times on streets)
- in future, you can buy stash lines for money
#EscapefromTarkov
Tarkov’s four rules:
1) there is always one more
2) “is that you?”
3) Flash drives don’t spawn before quest completion
4) Items Moving Error
#EscapefromTarkov
Here's a brief comparison between min and max FOV settings.
I've set mine to 63, which is close to

defaults. What's your setting?
