I’m having a bad time and this observation is so beautifully specific I started laughing so thanks for making me feel better sorry about the chickens.
@EmmyNawjoopinga
Sorry these comments are all trash, they should all be ashamed, laughing at the death of a native trans teen. I hope their family sees justice.
The theory that GCs are just conservatives posing as feminists is in action right here. Do you want teachers to all be obedient little ankle length dress wearing Christian tradwives?
This is a 1st grade teacher with she/her pronouns chastising Helen Joyce. As someone who safeguards children in my professional capacity, I know who I would leave my children with and it’s not this teacher👇👇🚩🚩
@finngalkn
Every other teenage girl dressed like this in the mid 2000s. A lot of those girls were babysitting younger siblings who, at worse, got introduced to Korn at the tender age of 7.
Not enough people celebrating Hunter’s win tonight. 2x04 was one of the most heartfelt and devastating episodes of the show, and so much of that is on Hunter Page-Lochard as Lynus Preston. So let’s shower love on him too! 🖤💛❤️

What I love about
#TheNewsreader
as a queer man is the way it portrays, acknowledges, respects and celebrates the diversity of experiences we have. There is no one way to live, no one journey that is more valid. Every character is so complex, riveting and well written, I love it.

You are absolutely disgusting. A teenager has died and you’ve decided to respond not only by misgendering them but by spouting the ableist rhetoric that autistic people can’t make decisions about their own health. I hope you never sleep well at night ever again. Barbaric.
@ThoughtCrimes07
@Esqueer_
Lmao. Plenty of cis men and women also take hormones, you dumb cunt, testosterone does not cause side effects conducive to symptoms of traumatic brain injury.
I'll be like "Succession is a political satire full of terrible people corrupted by their absurd wealth and the isolation from society that causes" and then I'm like "Kendall Roy never did anything wrong in his life".
@transmetalmum
@sharrond62
There’s such a difference between being a tomboy and feeling like a boy. My family were mostly academics, very gender equal but all huge nerds. I became a huge nerd like the rest of my family, my internal sense of being a man was entirely seperate, I just really like DND.
@lauren_vasiliou
His mate was 100% in the right, I wouldn't be friends with a kid that doesn't treat people with muna decency. You and your son could learn some respect from that mate, good on him and shame on you.
@stephenwhittle
I’ve only been out for 9, but the hatred has definitely increased in the last few years. I’ve been very happy in my little bubble until GCs descended.
Gushy tweet because I wanna be gushy today. The Newsreader fandom may be tiny, but it's the loveliest one I've ever belong to, and I feel blessed every day to be a part of it 🥰
Hate those tweets that are like "being bisexual is not being able to choose between [two of the most mediocre people ever]". Anyway being bi is watching The Newsreader and understanding Dale on a primal level because actually how ARE you supposed to choose b/w these two?
I can just tell Dale is going to have a menty b in season 3 I feel it in my bones and I CANNOT wait. Love to see a beautiful man in the throes of despair.

It’s Australia, we just stopped aid. Thought people were over confusing our two countries at this point but apparently not.
@angsty_kiddo
As a whole ass trans man? She right. Just because it's not of importance to you doesn't mean it's not of importance to other trans men yo.
It hurts seeing my baby queer self in young Nex. I loved Slipknot as a teen and still love them now. It’s a little thing, but it’s just something that makes it all the more painful to me
@mackenzie_ish
@uhgoose
Not to mention their idea of girlhood often conforms to Eurocentric beauty standards and Western notions of what it means to be a girl
Really cool of The Newsreader writers to write an open relationship where it's not played for drama and the characters in fact love and trust each other very much. Anyway I love Gerry and Carla so much, have I said that before?
@StrewthQueen
I remember it so well. I grew up in the Macedon Ranges, a relatively "progressive" area by rural standards, and seeing people come out of the woodwork emboldened by the national debate that had never shown their face in my little town before.
@ArtistAffame
I think sometimes the people that others “think” are lazy dole bludgers are people like me. Being bipolar means that sometimes I’m very productive. But I’ve also had periods of intense depression. That’s not “I can be productive and I chose not to” I just don’t know when I can be
@KaskaJessica
Elton John he's also gay as hell, and he's loved by gay people and straight love his music they support his career. Elton John doesn't go around forcing people to accept him for his sexuality unlike this new generation of alphabet Squad that's so insecure of their sexuality.
@dvkerose
Ted Lasso also being on there as if Colin’s coming out wasn’t the most milquetoast rehashed coming out story ever and Keeley’s storyline wasn’t insanely biphobic 🙄
The lovely
@newsatsix1986
asked me what my favourite episode of s1 is, given that I have a wee bit of s2 bias. I couldn't possibly put my reply into one tweet, but this is the summation of what I said. (Also I would @ some ppl mentioned in this, but alas, I have stage fright 😨)
@HerbsandDirt
My mother (born in the 60s, schooled in the 70s and 80s), has had severe asthma her whole life. She was hospitalised multiple times as a kid and is very lucky to still be here (and I’m very glad cause I love my mum). To suggest people like her didn’t exist is an absolute insult.
Dale Jennings is the way he is because one time in high school he accidentally called his teacher mum and instead of being normal about it he cried in front of everyone. He was 15.
I just know Cheryl and Gerry talk like this aaaalll the time, I know in my heart they are work besties. When Siobhan left Bananarama and Gerry was distraught about it, guess who was there to console him?
Anna Torv says this in the mirror every morning before delivering another show stopping performance that will specifically make my lesbian oomfs go insane
Best part of The Newsreader is how the actors use micro expressions. For example, Gerry doesn't even flirt with Dale much, but with only his eyes, Rory Fleck Byrne can convey that Gerry is so down bad for Dale he wants to rip his own face off, but is trying to act chill abt it.
Love Dale but ngl if I had just been arrested and faced the very possibility of losing my job and reputation and I called on a close friend who'd confided in me about his own struggles with being a queer man and he said THIS?! You could not hold me accountable for what I did next
@StrewthQueen
I think it's a useful way to describe it, but not on it's own. I think acknowledging that it is domestic violence is a good thing, but leaving it there leaves a lot of stuff out.
Helen Norville if you read this im free on Thursday night and would like to hang out. Please respond to this and then hang out with me on Thursday night when I’m free
DALE JENNINGS IS BISEXUAL, NOT GAY, THE CREATORS HAVE SPECIFIED THAT. JUST BECAUSE HE LIKES MEN DOES NOT MEAN HE DOESN’T LOVE HELEN AND IT DOESN’T GIVE YOU AN EXCUSE TO BE MISOGYNISTIC TOWARDS HER.
