Welcome to Bangalore!
I can walk into any speciality department or just call and get appointment anytime.
Not claiming we have the best health care system but I dread traveling to USA or UK and fall sick
I am a radiologist.
I cannot get an appointment at my own institution to see an ophthalmologist or optometrist until mid January 2024. Just loving this US healthcare system.

That's the reason salaried people feel cheated to pay tax as our social security support especially after we retire is zilch we have to depend on our savings and hope and pray our kids don't need our financial support
Saw this patient after 28 years
I had sent him to my guru Prof CK Jacob at CMC Vellore for kidney biopsy in 1995
This patient travelled long distance to see me at Aster Hospitals Whitefield
for augmentin induced urticaria
His daughter told me he doesn't trust anyone else I felt
As a Transplant Nephrologist I am not sure if this is a wise decision
In my experience in Transplant the therapeutic window of the Life saving drugs like Tacrolimus and cyclosporine are low and all generic brands are not same
It will now be pharmacies deciding the generic brands

A decade ago an ISRO scientist came to me for kidney transplant
His wife asked me if I can guarantee success of the Transplant
I saw the scientist holding a newspaper clipping showing a photo of ISRO chairman praying in Thirupati to Lord Balaji for the success of a rocket launch
ISRO Scientists visited Tirupati Venkatachalapathy Temple on Today morning to offer prayers ahead of the launch of Chandrayaan-3.
The team arrived at the temple with a miniature model of Chandrayaan-3

Patients keep asking what is the best way to do dialysis
Daily alternate days 4 hours etc?
A French Nephrologist told me that Dialysis should be like sex
Frequent
Long
Gentle
Safe
Please don't accuse me of being a lecherous old Nephrologist
I am just quoting a French Colleague

No need for DM
I have given the numbers just act
I have DM d earlier with so many numbers so many times no action taken because HDFC doesn't care!

A man was asked to paint a boat.
He brought with him paint and brushes and began to paint the boat a bright red, as the owner asked him.
While painting, he noticed that there was a small hole in the hull, and quietly repaired it.
When finished painting, he received his money

There is a famous story about saint Kanakadasa. Once his Guru gave a banana to disciples and told them to eat it at a place where no one can see them. All the disciples, except Kanakadasa, searched for a secret place and ate the banana.

Interesting facts on brand name and marketing
A product called Nefrosave cleverly named is used by thousands thinking it will save the kidneys
Most of us Nephrologists don't use it but I see hundreds of this prescription in practice
Fortunately the ingredients don't damage
Did you know that "Amul fresh paneer" is the brand name of the product, and doesn't necessarily mean the paneer is fresh?
Marketing gimmick (episode 3)- Name of the product.
@eravimaheshwari
@HDFC_Bank
@HDFCBank_Cares
HDFC Bank doesn't care about its customers
It's the largest private bank in India and still soliciting business by outsourcing to telemarketing companies and claiming ignorance
The chairman and CEO should have some shame and act responsibly
Chetan I have been in the Transplant field in India for nearly 40 years
In my experience there is a wrong belief that related donation is altruistic and unrelated is commercial
It's a grey area
