Now I've made the grandkids a rice pudding in the same dish my mum would make it for me. Snaffled the skin and was catapulted back to being ten.
There is a very divided camp over eating the skin in a rice pudding, which side are you on, or is this just too retro for comment?
This is what 62 looks like. I'm loving my sixties, a time of finding a voice which was buried for too long & of getting my words out into the world. Let's see what the next year brings. Happy birthday to me! ๐
Sat in the shade of the apple trees with Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman.
It's piercing, with a dark undercurrent whilst being laugh out loud funny at times. Have you read it?
I truly believe that the mental barriers I face towards exercise stem from this instrument of humiliation and the dragon that shamed me for not being able to vault over it, climb the ropes or roll over the balance bars.
We've discovered a hedgehog house beneath the roses at the front. There are babies in it, as we can hear them squeaking ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ
Will leave well alone.

Shared memories, tunes that take you back (did a playlist of 30 'our tunes' for 30th anniversary), a settled feeling like a pair of comfy shoes, corners rounded, new chapters shared, like campervan trips & grandkids, routines - he brings me breakfast in bed on a Sunday. 38yrs.

I'm trying to take my own author pics. After many attempts when my vest was showing, my necklace wonky, hair was all over the place or too flat, I've narrowed it down to these four. Which one would you choose?

Walking to the potting shed this morning and spooked a hare giving birth to this tiny leveret. Leaving well alone and hoping mum will come back. My heart is in my mouth.

Feel like I'm in a Turner painting up here, watching the

1/2...Just received first ever payment for a piece of freelance creative nonfiction. This is a big deal, not for the money, but because I'd promised myself I'd 'be a writer' by the time I was 60.
My 60th birthday is in less than four weeks. ๐๐....

She's done it again ๐ our resident hare has returned and birthed a leveret in our wild garden. Feeling very blessed.
It's no wonder hares appear in my writing so often.
Sad to be leaving the welcoming community & beauty that is

Thought I'd lost this but found it in between the pages of a book. It's the first photo I had of my husband, the one I showed my mother telling her this was the guy I was serious about. Her answer was that she'd pray for him.
Readers, we are still happily married 35 yrs on.
It's here!!! With great excitement I give to you my first ever unboxing video for my debut novel, The Rewilding of Molly McFlynn.

You know that thing, where you go on holiday, fall in love with a place and decide that every empty house is a possibility for a move?

Thinking of those getting

Did Art O & A Level in my 30s & my MA at age 58.
So if you didn't get the results you or your kids wanted, don't stress.
Last day douk on

Taking a wee break from social media for a while - down south helping my folks through a sticky patch, and need some quiet time.
Take care everyone, and keep spreading the Molly love ๐
Thank you to all who have given your two penn'th & welcome all new followers. I find it nuts that a post about which photo I should use goes viral, but good writing that has been sweated over all day is hardly seen. I've gone with 2 but it's a work in progress.

Just because we're on the road, doesn't mean the writing stops. Ideas for novel number two are coming thick and fast.
Still need a name for my main character - it'll come.

Granddaughter is learning a new word, 'elderflower' and today we will be making cordial. Got a bag of frozen goosegogs from last year so better use them up before this year's are ripe. Gooseberries marry so well with elderflowers: cordial, cake & ice-cream ๐

Built 4yr old granddaughter a bird hide from a cardboard box so she can birdwatch in the conservatory without scaring the birds away. She spotted a crow, drew it in her notebook but decided it would look better in rainbow colours.

It's all a matter of perspective.
Checking in to say, I'm still here, keeping an eye out for news in the background but still feeling the need for some quiet time.
My mum is very poorly and my head is done in!
And breathe...nothing but the shush of the waves breaking gently on the shore. This was the view from the van door last night at Firemore Beach. Made sure the only trace left was the tenner in the honesty box.

For those asking about the clothes I made for our son's wedding, here you go: linen coat & dress (will get better pics) It was a fantastic day, the rain stopped and we partied into the night, dancing under moonlight on the beach. So many precious memories made.
