Musk is a tool; Twitter has fallen to shitposting. Find me on a different platform.
@Maelvampyre
@SenSanders
I have paid off my student loans and see nothing unfair about this - instead, prospects improvement and people too selfish to want to see their fellow human have a better life.
@ThreeNotch
@BillPascrell
You're right. The 2nd protects the right to bear _arms_ - no restriction on arms specified.
In point of fact, my AR-15 in .350 Legend is expressly a hunting rifle.
Finally, our rep being on record supporting this has cost her the reelection.
@Skolney79
@johnpavlovitz
Third parties exist for the express purpose of representing voters not adequately represented by existing parties - no more and no less.
Democrats are perfectly capable of adjusting platform to attract independents and third party voters - they choose not to.
That's on them.

> no one could have imagined a Supreme Court would have overturned Roe vs Wade
What limited imagination.
Do you truly believe no one came out of that decision protecting it tangentially through an _opinion_ wondering how strong it was, thinking it's time to actually legislate?
This guy is legitimately a better candidate than either Biden or Trump and it's not even close.
He not only promotes actually addressing root issues here, he does so in a way which keeps the option open for those who need it and which minimizes government influence.
Refreshing.
I support medical and bodily autonomy from the state. I am pro choice on nearly every issue.
So it should be no surprise that I oppose the recent Arizona Supreme Court ruling that puts women's healthcare back to the 19th century.
I oppose federal funds for abortions.
I support
@cmclymer
Who said anything about need? I don't need roughly 80% of the things I own.
You have it all backwards. You don't get to infringe upon a person's freedoms without compelling need - which does not exist here.
Consider actually addressing problems:
@TSievens
@SenSanders
My college experience was living in a shitty dorm-like apartment while attending community college. A family member's is living with us while attending community college. Luxury? Hardly.
@PubliusBellicus
@MJohnson5335
@mehdirhasan
There's that partisan duopoly enablement I've come to expect from blue team tribals.
A vote for a third party candidate is a vote for a third party candidate and nothing more. If one of them better matches your values, the only correct use of a vote is supporting them.
What a perfect metaphor for duopoly enablement - pretending there are only two possible outcomes and that one is morally obligated to participate in something awful.
You are responsible for your actions. You are not responsible for someone else's.
if you have to pull a lever to kill a million people instead of a million and one, refusing to pull the lever to make yourself feel less icky about the situation will be cold comfort to the family of the person you could have saved but chose not to
@jamesmurray612
@SenSanders
"college", or vocational training, is as necessary for many professions as primary school education.
Go full reduction. Why pay for any education, grade school or otherwise? Why pay taxes for anything?
Because the betterment of society requires it.
@nsimone31
@SeanHns
@DanRather
Yes. That's what they do - disregard reality, make meme.
Remember the big brain "votes for Trump by land area" map they kept trying to push? The one that looks really red but completely disregards population density?
Same shit, different day.
@SenSanders
Any weapon with a replaceable magazine can be used to "kill dozens of people in a few minutes". Rifles of all forms, including AR-15 platform, are the minority of firearm violence - handguns win that one.
You've left the data, Bernie. This is disappointing.
@shelly2161
@TheatreSpoonie
@mjs_DC
I'd argue we've seen that quite a few times e.g. as far back as Roe v. Wade itself.
I don't think 2016 changed so much as people believe. It may have brought a bit more awareness, though.
Notably... Nothing's changing in the representatives people select, so maybe not.
@ReidRendon
@tobyontour
@SenSanders
It's pretty clear Bernie is disregarding the stats entirely at this point and going for the party line, which is truly disappointing.
It's pretty cool to see
@NPR
giving a third-party candidate -
@ChaseForLiberty
- a highlight while also being pretty fair about the
@LPNational
rift - highlighting both the positives and negatives about the current state of affairs.
Way to go, NPR.
@kale_thelettuce
He's the only legit liberty candidate on the ballot and is one of the best options we've had in a very long time.
He was at the LP IA booth at Des Moines' Pride festival and did very well. I was impressed.
@1CathyHarrell
@BillPascrell
In point of fact, I use one of mine for hunting and the others for target practice - both of which are legitimate _business_.
@shuboogie
@ewarren
"*solid* Dem win?" Are you delusional? There was nothing solid about this win - the margins were frequently razor-thin. Grandstanding? More like trying to issue a much-needed wakeup call.
@AP
Here's the real headline:
"The suspectโs family told investigators they believed Alissa was suffering some type of mental illness, including delusions."
@RandyOnEd
I'm looking forward to a detailed analysis of how this individual had a firearm and what reasonable targeted measures you think would have changed the situation.
Without that, you're just using a tragedy to pander.
@Scrambruh
@AOC
I enjoy how you're reframing "calling out major failings in general Democratic party campaign doctrine in hopes of driving improvement" as "making an enemy of the good".
@jesss_codes

@josephmfperez
@Maelvampyre
@SenSanders
So your argument is the by doing nothing for people like myself (who have paid off our loans) while cancelling existing debt, we're... actively pulling back people like myself?
I'm impressed at your lack of empathy but also your broken reasoning.
@josephmfperez
@Maelvampyre
@SenSanders
There's no "pulling back" of anyone. If anything, it's counteracting "pulling back" of these people by student debt.
I say that as someone who busted my ass to pay off student loans. I'm very empathetic to the plight - I hope others can do without that burden.
@MattBinder
I wonder if it has anything to do with their absurd changes regarding pricing and account sharing...
Nah, gotta be the politics-related bit.
@WhiskeyAndKeys
@fakertarians
And that's the crux of it: there's a lot of statist hand-tipping resulting from this. His position boils down to exactly "it should be a matter for a doctor to decide, not the state" and that's misrepresented as "supports transing kids".
Liberty isn't a hard concept, even here.
@kpkadel
@SenSanders
Firearms, in these contexts, are just a means to an end. Let us not forget Ted Kaczynski.
Mental health is part of it. Depressed socioeconomic conditions are another part.
@gunpolicy
Lol, thus illustrating the necessity of resistance to such demonstrably flawed measures focusing on the firearms over the sheer quantity of people driven to extremes.
No restriction will ever be enough when we're not addressing the actual problems.
@whillikerz
@PadmaLakshmi
Our country is suffering in this issue, specifically, because Team Blue keeps raving about AR-15s instead of making informed decisions based on data and analysis.
@TMtfromcc

Citation needed.
The last AR platform ban had no impact on firearm violence.
Nor does it follow that it would, given the extreme minority percentage.
@Gritty20202
Ah, yes, let me psychologically detach from work by doing the thing I have to derail my entire damn routine to do on behalf of that work thereby making the mindspace inseparable from said work.
Brilliant.

They both fight on behalf of the elites. It's why the "us vs them" polarization is such a joke.
The insulin copay caps are _also_ a joke.

@TMtfromcc
@davidhogg111
@bex0760
No, and you clearly do not "research".
Your statement encompasses the vast majority of firearms with handgun inclusion; you've effectively said most car fatalities happen with automatic or manual transmission. No shit.
To the point, that ban didn't reduce violence.
@JoJostekes
@NewtownAction
Such a meaningless distinction.
The Colt 1911 is a _weapon of war_ despite being an objectively terrible handgun.
The Sig M18, better known as P320, is a _weapon of war_ despite being a run of the mill 9mm handgun.
Hell, so is the old kabar knife.
@Lebs84
@davidhogg111
The ban correlated with zero reduction in firearm violence, understandably so given it did nothing to address the socioeconomic pressures driving people to violence? The ban targeting a single digit percentage minority of firearm violence?
That ban?
@KrauseForIowa
"Other data indicates that high-tech & professional jobs pay lower in Iowa also."
This is the entire reason I exclusively work remote these days... Bay Area, Chicago, and East Coast pay *and benefits* are just unbelievably better.
@TSievens
@SenSanders
You're making an entire bundle of assumptions about one anecdotal example.
Is a lack of protests complicity? Is it the only obvious viable option for students? On and on.
@ConnieD64371509
@BillPascrell
In point of fact, one of my AR-15s is for the express purpose of hunting and all of them are used extensively in target practice.
Lol @ "for WAR!"
@FroghammedZoroa
@gunpolicy
True, but it's a fantastic state-level protection should judges do as they've lately been doing and change opinion on rulings.
As a side benefit, it summarily removes a wedge issue from our state politics.
@ArmedBearCaucus
It's always weird seeing those "Republicans pretending otherwise" showing up with "liberty" names.
They're like half of the accounts I've muted.
@shelly2161
@TheatreSpoonie
@mjs_DC
No one would have tried to field it _publicly_.
We've been set on this course of partisan nonsense since the 90's and the trend of partisanship and deadlock.
It wouldn't be reasonable to assume there _wasn't_ planning for power grab on either side.
