Don't get me wrong, #MachineLearning can be an incredibly useful tool. However, it can also be flawed and is not the solution to everything. It still takes my breath away when I hear individuals put so much complete trust & confidence in it as an end-all solution.

While I deeply respect @BhramarBioStat ’s opinion, as someone who unexpectedly couldn’t attend #JSM2022 , I felt left out without a hybrid option. Remote and/or hybrid options are sometimes the *only* option for some folks, especially folks with young kids.

As #JSM2022 comes to an end, I am so grateful to return to in person meetings. Remote or hybrid conferences did not work for me for the past two years. I was never sad when they ended. Thanks to the amazing staff @AmstatNews and the program committee for this remarkable return.

I am happy for all the recipients of the National Cancer Institute's 2021 Outstanding Investigator Awards. But could someone at @thnci explain how they ended up with just 1 woman out of 17 awardees? Is there a plan to address this imbalance, @NCIDirector ?

This is order is inhumane and wrong on in *every way*! Marginalizing, threatening, or outright banning our international researchers & colleagues will not only ruin the lives of individuals, but also will only hurt the innovation engine in academia and tech/industry for decades

This order is an unmitigated disaster for US academia and for the country. It will have a chilling effect on the ability of the US to attract the world's best scientists and engineers even if lifted by a new administration because of the uncertainty it creates.
