John Wesley was so bothered by the disparity in access to healthcare between rich & poor he wrote a book of remedies: Primitive Physick. Some is legit; some is 18th-century level sketch. My fave is the remedy for obstructed bowel: “434. Hold a live puppy constantly on the belly”

8 months ago, my husband gave up co-pastoring with me after a decade so I could accept God's call on my life to be the Campus Pastor at @mvnu1968 . He had no church job lined up or prospects. Today, he begins his new role as youth pastor at our church. God sees. God is faithful.

Today we received communion at church. A church member has a severe mental and physical disability that prevents him from feeding himself. Another member placed the bread in his mouth and lifted the tiny cup to his lips. His face was radiant. This is the Church. Thanks be to God.

I am so proud of my dad Brad Dyrness who was installed as the Michigan District Superintendent. He was my first and will always be my favorite pastor. He has always modeled what it means to be a faithful shepherd and I know that he will shepherd the pastors of Michigan well.
