Students usually study until late night yet our library closes at 5, maybe 7. Even in universities it’s the same. Until libraries are open 24/7 (just the non-books, tables-only with a section for quiet zone suffices), the issue wont be resolved.

Daily reminder all (large) parks in KL closes at 10. KLCC Park? 10pm. Tasik Titiwangsa? Also 10pm. Other parks that already close by 10pm: Metropolitan Kepong, Perdana Botanical Gardens, Taman Pudu Ulu, Tasik Permaisuri, etc. Parks SHOULD BE OPEN 24/7 (or at least until 3am)

One of the best market for RapidKL bus is serving the university students yet the demand has never been properly met. It’s so bad the universities had to provide their own shuttle to fulfil the transportation demand. This is a policy failure.

If you think KL has an addiction of malls. Boy I have news for you. Singapore has 171 malls. Selangor + KL + Putrajaya? 153 malls. (168 if you include undercon or proposed) Out of 50 biggest mall in the world: Only 4 is in Malaysia 10 is in Philippines, and 6 is in Thailand

Today, the first HSR in Southeast Asia is officially launched in Indonesia. The route is between Jakarta and Bandung, with combined metro population of 40+ million. The journey time between the two cities will be reduced by 80% from 3.5 hours to 40 minutes.

Back in May, RapidKL has announced that the station repairs for all lines is due to be completed by September 30th. So I went to check all MRT stations to see if it has been fixed. Spoiler: it's pretty bad. This is a thread 🧵

Daily reminder the PH govt cut the LRT3 train in half (6 car -> 3 car) because "low demand" Oh and the LRT3 can only come every 6-7 minutes during rush hour... because they also cut the total trains by half (42 -> 22 sets)

If you haven't been to Desa ParkCity yet, I highly recommend. The township is very well designed because: - smaller than usual roads, no road larger than 4 lanes - huge trees on both side of the road AND in the median - raised crosswalk - wide sidewalk - huge parks as town centre

Having a ETS-like service from Kuching all the way to Tawau with connections to Kalimantan railway will be a gamechanger in the island. Kuching to KK might seams infeasible (1250km, 9 hours), but the benefit is the towns along the way.

Freeport A Famosa is such a sad attempt at outlet mall. Other than instagram-worthy backdrops, it really is just a generico mall but worse (since it's in rural Melaka). Cant expect much when it's 40+ km from Bandar Hilir.

This is exactly the reason why people avoid buses. Reliability of buses in Malaysia (even the non-RapidKL ones) are nonexistant. I can accept a hourly bus if it meant it the bus is there every time, but a lot of times it doesnt. Frequency is king, but reliability matters more.

> 700 square feet (sqft) > 3 bedrooms > RM150-180k WTF. That is the spec sheet for the RM43k PPR and they’re now selling it at 150k??? Literally criminal. Plus, 700sqft in Singapore is 2-bedroom HDB unit. 3-bedroom units in Singapore HDB STARTS at 900sqft, for a reason.

- A lot of malls that are missed, like MidValley or KLCC - Color choice doesn't match with the actual line color (i.e Kelana Jaya Line being blue) - Some are just flat wrong like Kenanga Wholesale City said to be at MRT Merdeka station 5/10 for the effort

LRT Kelana Jaya Line has reached a new record of **123% capacity**. Literally the only reason why LRT Kelana Jaya Line is not back to pre-pandemic ridership of 330k (rn is 226k) is because there's literally no room for growth.

There's an argument to be made that because Cyberjaya and Putrajaya is a bit too halal and suburban, no expat want to move there which makes companies reluctant to move their HQ from downtown KL Seriously, the town is dead after 10pm (7pm for Putrajaya), not good

putrajaya was not supposed to be the administrative centre, but no commercial developers wanted to invest there, so they had no option but to move the administrative centre from kl to pjaya to HAVE people

GREAT NEWS! LRT Kelana Jaya has added 6 more trains over the past week, which means: - More trains (every 4 mins instead of 5 mins) - No more waiting for 2+ trains during rush hour (crowd level has dropped by 16%)

If Malaysia unis want to do residential campuses, you have to make sure there’s enough dorm for every student. Some rural campuses campak you outside that some people had to rent 10-15km away from the actual campus because who knew rural areas don’t have enough rental homes.
