Today was an #Howgills day. Weather perfect & only one other man & his dog on the fells for company. If ever you are on the train or in the car on the M6 between Lancaster and Tebay and wonder what the view is like from the top, this is it! 1/2

I visited @507stre on Saturday to witness their training weekend at MOD Kineton. A @Proud_Sappers Reserve unit, 507 is the UK’s only defence railway capability comprising volunteers from the rail industry and, as the war in Ukraine has reminded us all, is of strategic importance.

Very wintery scenes up Murton Fell in the @NorthPennAONB earlier and there is even a cornice forming near the top. There are deep (knee high) snow drifts in the less exposed areas.
