25 years ago today Labour introduced the minimum wage. The grey faces opposed it then saying it would kill jobs. It didn’t. It changed lives.
But there is more to do. That is why the next Labour government will start a New Deal for Working People.
Getting out the vote in Birmingham Northfield for the great

The voters in Northfield couldn’t elect a better representative. A vast improvement on what voters have had to put up with over the last five years.

Attended four hour basic critical care training ✅
Shadowed an ITU nurse for four hours ✅
It was comforting that the nurses conducting the training were people I knew, one being a previous line manager. 😅
I guess it’s a waiting game to see if I’m redeployed to assist.
How insulting to the workers that go out and save lives every day.
Who went out in the pandemic in bin bags because his government at the time couldn’t get PPE to them.
When is they going to take their responsibilities seriously?

My Uncle John. A family man and one of the best jesters that South Wales has ever produced, and one of its most travelled with years in the British Road Service & coach industry. He served in Egypt.
He is not just another body. Those comments are an affront to him and the dead.
Every 18-year-old will get the choice of how they do their National Service.
Deciding to either serve their country in the Armed Forces or serve their community by volunteering.

My lovely Nan and Gramp and all those that can’t be here with us to clap these results in tonight.
A vote for the Brexit Party is a vote for the Tories.
Farage is a Thatcherite that wants to end the NHS, cut workers rights and prop up the Tory Party rightwing. 👎
So I got down to the picket lines to support
@theRCN
members at Charing Cross Hospital who are on strike.
The support from the public is overwhelming - taxis, black cabs, couriers. Steve Barclay needs to start talking.
There’s a reason Tory attacks on the New Deal did not land and Reform campaigned in the general election to “make work pay”.
Voters of all parties back Labour’s plans to boost workers’ rights, poll shows.

That’s my second Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine done straight after my first night shift of four. When you’re invited please take it. It’s safe! Right, I’m off to bed now because your girl is tired. 😴
GMB is our members. When the Health Secretary says unions are to blame for today’s action he is talking about these workers. Our ambulance service workers who are still putting the public first. When will the government start?
Even when out on strike, GMB members in the ambulance service will always put the public first.
It's time for the government to follow their example.

With the risk of looking overly earnest in a public arena. I had a bit of a moment earlier watching our ambulance members on the tele explaining their case for better pay and thinking about how privileged I am to work for them. I also had garlic bread with my tea.
The ceanothus hybrid outside the house is finally in bloom.
It’s a beaut when in flower which is for about 3 weeks every year and inspired my best pal and neighbour to write this poem - Purple Broccoli.
It’s my last day working for the Labour Party. It’s been a huge privilege to work under the leadership of Keir & Angela. I truly value the friendship I have had from across the movement. I’ll continue to do all I can to work for a Labour victory as I take up new opportunities.
One year today (21/08/18) it was my first date with my now lovely boyfriend! It’s flown by so quickly. Here’s to the future and celebrating on Friday. We’ll be cooking rendang like we did on our second date. Thanks for putting up with me

What logic is this? Tory MP implies undisguised and overt racism is fine, but calling on the disgraced leader of the most corrupt UK Government in living memory to go isn’t.
I do like Lee Andrerson personally and his outspoken manner, but I also don't forget how he jumped on the bandwagon and said Boris had no integrity and should resign.
