SPIONE [SPIES (1928)] Directed by Fritz Lang Fritz Lang’s foundational masterwork setting the template for the spy film genre. He laid much of the groundwork for the spy movies which were to come later from Hitchcock’s 39 Steps to the Bond series with this influential milestone.
