@HanbaliRegiment Sectarianism began in Iraq when Saddam Hussein kept Shia cities poor, accused random people of being Iranian spies, and tortured innocent civilians. Sectarianism continued in Iraq when the Sunnis invited ISIS into our country.

@HanbaliRegiment This is not how sectarian tensions rose in Iraq at all. In fact, Khomeini prohibits Shiis from publicly cursing the Sahaba and Iran wants to appeal to the Sunni world.

This is scientifically inaccurate on many levels. Firstly, there is a difference between epigenetic and genetic inheritance. The miRNA in breast milk does not permanently alter the genome, nor are the affects of the miRNA inheritable.

Today I learnt that milk has micro-RNA that plays a role in neurodevelopment. Hence, those who share milk can become brother and sister from these micro-RNA. This this can cause issues in offsprings. But marrying your cousin is fine.

@Lubnanix Do you know what the Athari response is to the fact that their God laughs in reaction to creation? I've always been curious, because if perfection is a self-sufficient being, then reaction to a stimuli would mean an insufficiency in the essence and thus negation of perfection.

I used to think that at least the "Athari" Aqidah was being spread by "Salafis" and that's a good thing. However, I don't know what's worse for the 'Ummah at this point- 1) being Ash'ari/Maturidi & "Sufi" while adhering to a Madh'hab in Fiqh; or 2) being "Salafi" and

This isn't even true, the PMF is highly factionalized and NOT under the same commandment. It isn't factions under communal leadership, each group has its own chain of command. In fact, the major reason it's so factionalized is because of ideological differences.

@Keray28424657 Plus there’s an underlying assumption that a state must be Islamic for its authority to be respected. I think it’d actually be the opposite, people would see the government as contradicting their own beliefs & thus not choose to respect it.

The fundamental issue with critiques such as these is that it’s reliant on the premise a state actor can act within accordance to religion. Even with respect to the caliphates, political entities have always had to make concessions. This is just a very naïve view.
