An early megatooth shark ambushes a young archaeocete whale over late Eocene seagrass meadows. Inspired by reading about the evolution in megatooth sharks of serrated teeth coinciding with the appearance of the archaeoceti, suggesting the sharks were adapting to feed on them.

Piece for a new project in the works. Hybodont sharks rooting in the shallows for molluscs and crustaceans in the Late Cretaceous waters of the North American continent of Laramidia are interrupted by the arrival of a huge titanosaur swimming north up from South America.

Bit of Voodoo Paleontology. An unknown giant Mediterranean raptor hunting dwarf elephants on Malta, Sicily etc is seen by early mariners in the region who, familiar with normal pachyderms, assume this must be a giant bird of prey. The legend of the Roc is born. (Book idea...)

Bajadasaur in caliche forest. A4. This started out as Amargasaurus on a saltflat, but researching saltflats, I stumbled across caliche forests and thought they looked really cool. And looking at sail-necked sauropods, I remembered Bajadasaurus. Original available.

New piece for a speculative project. Lesser Tylosaurs hunting inshore amongst mating season gatherings of the weird shark-like elasmobranch, Aquilolamna. This type of shoaling is entirely speculative and based on similar conglomerations by living rays. A3 on blue paper.

Following a Late Triassic mega-monsoon, a Fasolasuchus scavenges the corpse of a Shastasaurid ichthyosaur washed ashore. A trio of Zupaysaurs await their turn at the carcass. A herd of dicynodonts pass along the storm-lashed shoreline. A3 piece for the new book.

Predator & T.rex v Xenoraptors. A3, pen & ink. Done for fun What if, in some future, InGen and Weyland-Yutani teamed up and hybridised a Velociraptor and a xenomorph? Of course it all goes horribly wrong, but salvation is at hand. And it rides a JP T.rex.

Thereby hangs a Tail A4 private commission. An Allosaurus attack on a Stegosaurus goes horribly wrong when its teeth end up around the wrong end and it all ends in a Greco-Roman throwdown.

Few people been asking about my method so thought I'd show some close-ups on the current work. As Martin Sheen says in Apocalypse Now, I don't see an method at all... I just do lots of crosshatching and dry brushing.

Isla Nublar Ambush. Private commission, A4. I remembered the scene in the Jurassic Park book where the heroes hide in a waterfall to escape the T.rex (used in JPII). Throught it would be cool for the rex is use the waterfall to mask its presence and set up an ambush...

A Lazy Afternoon A2 (420 x 594mm) private commission Acrocanthosaurs have eaten their fill of sauropods killed in a flash flood. With so much food around, they tolerate each other, and don't even mind dromeosaurs putting their taloned feet up on them.

Jurassic Park: The Rites of Spring A3 colour pencils/pastels on dark blue paper. I liked the idea of updating Fantasia's Rites of Spring sequence but the only way T.rex could take on Stegosaurus was in JP. Nice to do something purely for the helluva it.

Warpigs A4 private commission Okay so entelodonts aren't technically pigs but it's a cool name for what looks like a giant warthog. They always make me of the Hulk - angry all the time - so it was fun to draw them fighting but I'm sure they had their down time as well.

In antedeluvian Albion, Megalosaurus, avails itself upon an Iguanodon, whose companion uses its rhino-like horns to good effect against its adversary. Beyond, armoured Hylaeosaurus seeks the solace of the swamps.  Hope to use this for charitable purposes with @cpdinosaurs
