Is ceathrar anois sinn! 👨👩👦👦
Donnacha Joseph arrived into the world and into our hearts last Tuesday week and has brought so much joy and love to us all.
I couldn’t be more in awe of Teresa.
Diarmuid is settling in well in his new role of Big Brother!
Táimid beannaithe. 😃
Fair play to my
@fiannafailparty
colleague
@ThomasByrneTD
who has consistently held the Minister to Education to account on the plans for
#LeavingCert
and the disastrous handling of communicating government plans around it. So much needless stress caused.
I am honoured to have been re-elected to South Dublin County Council to represent my community in the Palmerstown-Fonthill local electoral area.
Thanks to the 1,348 people who trusted me with their first preference vote and to everyone who indicated a preference. 1/3
Extremely proud of our team and our result today! It wasn’t to be, but we have been bowled over by the support and hard work of everybody on our team over the last few weeks!
Today wasn’t our day, but we have built a very solid platform to build on for the future.
Onwards!
Huge honour to have been selected by
@fiannafailparty
to fight the upcoming by-election in Dublin Mid-West. I'm looking forward to getting out on again to meet and talk to as many people as I can. It’s time to deliver for Dublin Mid-West.
Funerals are intensely private and emotional affairs. They are already made more painful by COVID-19 restrictions. Voyeuristic swarming by photographers is not in the public interest and can make an already difficult day tougher. My thoughts are with the Cowen family this evening
Fair play to
@NormaFoleyTD1
for acknowledging the enormous effort made by principals, teachers and BOMs over the past few months as we reopen our schools. An important milestone that will be achieved after an extraordinary amount of work.
#rtept
As a candidate in the By-Election I will fight to represent the people of Dublin Mid-West in Dáil Éireann.
The issues I will be focused on are:
✔️ Education
✔️ Childcare
✔️ Housing
✔️ Transport
✔️ Crime
I am asking you for your vote to be your voice in Dáil Éireann.
I was honoured and humbled to be elected to represent communities in Palmerstown-Fonthill yesterday.
Thanks to those who voted for me, my wonderful campaign team for believing in me and backing me to the hilt and to Teresa and Diarmuid for their love and support.
Onwards!
This govt hasn't delivered on affordable housing. It's not working.
*For people waiting for a bus in the morning.
*For adults living at home
*For people afraid to go outside their front doors after 7pm, this govt is not working.

Honoured to have been invited by An Taoiseach to serve as a councillor member of the Citizens’ Assembly on a Directly Elected Mayor for Dublin.
We had our first meeting today. Looking forward to getting to work with my 79 fellow members, under chair Jim Gavin.

Last Saturday 30th March 2019,
@tvwalsh
and I were thrilled to welcome our little son Diarmuid Quan James into the world. It has been a magical few days and our family of three couldn't have got off to a better start, despite the steep learning curve!
Such a lovely welcome greeted me as I took up my new position as Principal of St. Thomas' JNS Lucan this week. Fabulous school community and looking forward to many happy years there. 🎉
This article by
@jenhoganjourno
stopped me in my tracks today. The decency and strength of
@MichealMartinTD
, his wife and family are so evident, even in the face of such sadness in their lives. Take a few minutes to read it today:
Polls are open until 10 tonight. Please vote if you can, and please consider me for your number one vote.
It was a lovely experience bringing the boys to vote this morning and showing them how it works, bringing back memories of Mam and Dad bringing us to vote when we were small.
From tomorrow, public health advice recommends wearing face coverings on public transport or where difficult to social distance.
You can turn an old (clean!) sock into a face covering in a minute - have a look at my best "How do you do" attempt!

On Holy Thursday night 23 years ago, I remember staying up to see if they would make the final agreement. I went to bed. The next morning my Mam told me that had made the deal - she stayed up. Politics had worked. An actual moment of history.

What a wonderful, refreshingly candid and inspirational interview from Galway Rose, Clare-Ann Irwin, a former teacher in
@DMSNSBalgaddy
. Changing careers, mental health and power of sport - all topics relevant and resonant for today. Ádh mór!

Good to see crowds at the Easter 1916 Commemoration in Dublin today, to observe the outstanding ceremonial from
@defenceforces
.
Unfortunate that it wasn’t shown on either of the two main RTÉ stations. This is an important state event, and should be treated as same.
Proud and special day for South Dublin County Council today, as my friend and colleague
@ladublinoise
was elected as Mayor of our County.
Congratulations also to
@joannatuffy
who was elected as Deputy Mayor. Delighted that our Council is now led by two women.
Absolutely fascinating tour of 6 Harcourt Street, where the prep and admistration for the First Dáil was undertaken.Something special to sit in the office of the Dáil’s first minister for finance, Michael Collins. Thanks to Jack and Cuan, agus buíochas do
@CnaG
! Sár-jab.

Though we do not share the same party,
@rodericogorman
is a thoroughly decent person whose commitment to the issues covered by his ministerial brief is evident and well-known. Full solidarity with him this evening, in face of the horrendous slurs being thrown at him.
So that was Date Night! 😂😂
A super day in Ballina to hear
@POTUS
who I have long admired for his constructive and solution-focused approach to politics, well able to read his Mayo audience!
Ballina looked fantastic and the atmosphere was electric.
A day to remember 🇮🇪🇺🇸
Can't believe that it's been three years (and one new baby!) since the results of
#LE2019
were announced 🤯.
Time really flies!
Always feel honoured to work on behalf of the people who live in
#PalmerstownFonthill
. Looking forward to the next two years!
Huge respect to
@HollyCairnsTD
and
@neasa_neasa
for speaking tonight about the distressing, concerning and increasingly toxic atmosphere in which women politicians work. We need diversity in politics. Where we can remove barriers to that, we need to do so urgently.

Last night, I was honoured to receive the nomination of my party to contest local elections for Fianna Fáil for the Palmerstown-Fonthill LEA.
I want to thank them for their faith in me.
Congratulations to Cllr Trevor Gilligan and Ciaran Power on their selection for Clondalkin LEA
Solidarity with
@CathalCroweTD
in response to that disgusting cowardly video. We need good people, from all backgrounds, to enter politics. Threats of violence, active misogyny and racism must not be tolerated and actively condemned by people of reasonable judgement.

Privileged to get the backing of Party Leader Micheál Martin before polls open on Friday here in

If elected I will fight for increased strategic services in the areas of

Over the past few weeks, I've been following
@kevcunningham
's excellent analysis of how COVID-19 is unfolding across the world. The facts he present need to be heeded as a matter of urgency. Statistics don't lie.
While there is still some road to travel, tonight’s announcement by
@MichealMartinTD
gives us that most precious of things - hope. The strength and resilience of the Irish people, our meitheal, has seen us through the worst of this pandemic. We do remarkable things when together.
Palmerstown’s Séamus Ong is playing the uileann pipes at Shane McGowan’s funeral today, following a request from Shane’s family.
Séamus is a talented uileann piper and this is something of which he should be rightly proud.

Delighted to speak at and attend the AMAZING Holi Celebration at Adamstown Youth and Community Centre - AYCC today, alongside Deputy Mayor Joanna Tuffy, An Taoiseach and Emer Higgins T.D.
This is now becoming much more than being about "a 15 grand role" or who is being appointed. It's a taxpayer-funded position, with no evidence-based need underpinning it, filled in a way that is hardly consistent with transparency and accountability.
Just catching up now with the fairly bizarre disclosure from Leo Varadkar that Katherine Zappone’s new envoy position was the brainchild of… Katherine Zappone
Brought the little man in to see

today, spent some lovely time in
@NMIreland
at Collins’ Barracks for some real history and then rambled around for a super family day!
1)Delighted to see 4 additional departures 2 morn/2 eve have began operating on route 67x from today. I lobbied hard for these services when I met Dublin Bus last month. This will make life easier for commuters in Kew Park & West on and will boost capacity along the N4 corridor.
Imagine trying to persuade someone, especially young women, to contest elected office, seeing arson attack on Martin Kenny, protests at the homes of Leo Varadkar, Stephen Donnelly & Simon Harris, stalking of Pascal Donohoe and other instances of intimidation.We should be worried.
I was honoured to have been chosen as Chairperson of the Board of Management of Ballyowen Castle Community Centre at the first meeting of the new Board this evening.
I’m looking forward to working with the new board as we fulfil the potential of BCCC!

“Huge honour to have been chosen as Fianna Fáil candidate to fight the by-election in DMW .
I’m fighting this by-election to hold the FIne Gael Government to account for the failure to deliver for people in Dublin…
Katie Hannon ia undoubtedly one of the best investigative journalists and current affairs broadcasters in Ireland at the moment. Underestimated in her roles so far, but head and shoulders above so many others.

We’re preparing to celebrate our first Christmas as a family of four, and I’m looking forward to taking some time off over the next week.
Happy Christmas! It can be a hard time for many, especially if there is an empty seat at the table, but is also a time of joy!

Honoured to have been elected as Chairperson of South Dublin County Joint Policing Committee.
I look forward to working with my fellow elected members, Garda leadership and PPN members to address crime in our area.

Productive weekend at the Fianna Fáil Ard-Fheis:
- called for continued investment in GP training and public health nurses for our fast growing areas;
- discussed the need to get local schools building projects up and running with Minister Norma Foley - TD
Extremely shocking scenes from Grafton Street & Dublin City today. Nothing peaceful about the antics taking place - firing a rocket at Gardaí says everything about the motivations some of of those out ‘protesting’ and the fact they would endanger those who protect us every day.
I never marked

yesterday but it’s important to say how much respect I have for our teachers and all involved in education.
I’m especially lucky to be married to one of the most dedicated and passionate teachers I know!

✅National awareness campaign around menopause.
