2 fields very light 5 bales an acre and the other 2 were 10 bales looks short but there was some butt to it Cormac, 30 acres yielded 252 bales I have another 20 acres to cut next week

I spent 2 hours putting out six 8 by 4 by 3 bales of barley straw I put in 3 today in 20 minutes and am not used to it yet it’s some job leaves the straw around 6” in length

@patrickkehoe700 I worked it out last night with the scan rate and the current cost of meal that I am saving over €40k by not having to feed meal to anything, I just have to improve my grassland management to maximise the use of the fresh grass with rotational grazing (hopefully 🤞)

@tristiandavie I honestly don’t know Tristian it’s my first time doing this, I usually have kale in but the weather was so wet last year I didn’t get it in. I put out 6 ton Wednesday morning and it’s nearly half gone now and there is 600 ewes in it

@GwionParry I only got it Thursday and am finding my feet with it Gwion, I have all left in the tool box in the cab and join it up when using it, I had all connected up in 2 minutes, I will get a suction cup for the cab and leave it there for the winter next year but it will do as is for now

@padraig_breen Thanks Padraig, but to be fair to this breed of sheep cosmetically they might not be as beautiful as your Suffolk mule, Borris ewe or the rest but they are bombproof I only handled 2% of them last year lambing as hoggets outside and without any meal
