The most frustrating thing--among many!--with this offense right now is that all the other stuff is actually going pretty great, close to even the best-case scenario we could have hoped for heading into the year. But it doesn't make any difference if no one can hit.

Will always love Bader, but Carlson's emergence as a terrific CF -- and that Bader's a free agent after next year -- sort of telegraphed this. Montgomery isn't Rodon, but he's reliable and solid (and signed through next year). And hey: They at least have five starters now.
