@thomaschattwill Fair enough, but unlike in the United States, it's clear that Ukraine's leaders are in the trenches with their people. There'd have been a lot fewer protests if we didn't see, for example, Nancy Pelosi getting her hair done in an otherwise-closed salon.

@mcuban @DavidSacks @haralabob Perhaps Garry is correct in that his views on the likelihood of the lab leak hypothesis changed over time. But if you were involved in the discourse after the Andersen paper was released it was hard not to get the impression there was a coordinated effort to *discredit* lab leak.

That's not how it works though. Peter Thiel's "resource curse" argument is right. SF and California can be so screwed up precisely BECAUSE tech is so successful. That's the chain of causality.

@micsolana And the age to join the military, enter into contracts, buy tobacco, etc etc. If we're going to have an argument about the age of majority, great. But let's be consistent about it.

This is, in a certain way, comforting -- it's a sign that AstraZeneca is proceeding according to Good Clinical Practices and not rushing things. I'd be more scared of a novel vaccine Phase 3 study that proceeded *without* any instance of clinical hold.

BREAKING: AstraZeneca's #Covid19 vaccine trials have been paused as the company investigates a serious adverse event the occurred in the UK. Not clear if the unexplained illness is linked to the vaccine, or what it was.

@cyantist I blame Eric Schmidt. That’s not a joke. This starts with Google’s bias toward people with Ivy League or Ivy-equivalent degrees.

While we’re all reviewing the new HCQ data I’d like to re-up my suggestion that high school math curricula include mandatory statistics courses. (Make trig & calculus optional for the kids who know they want to do STEM.)

@razibkhan @joinClubhouseTH Oh the ignorance goes much much deeper than that. If the West is over when your average bachelor's degree holder knows not one thing about Roman history, the West has been over for at least 50 years
