Today my boy met Auntie Maxine while he was doing his street musician thing & had to stop playing to give her flowers for being so amazing, as in “Congresswoman Waters, everyone in my family loves you!” It’s true.

@KFILE Honestly, since babies don’t “put on airs” I find her joyful smiles a testament to her reflexive joy, and the care she received from those around her. She felt safe, seen, and happy. Thank you for sharing her joy as captured in photos. 🙏🏾🌈♥️

In 1995 my baby was celebrating her 1st Christmas. I colored Santas on the gift wrapping brown so that she wouldn’t be influenced to think of the supernatural giver of gifts as an older White man. This yr, there are so many diverse representations, there’s no need to add color.
