Everything about this is wrong- there are half a million children in private schools and over 8 million in the state sector- they have aspirational parents too but are held back by the shocking funding gap between the two. A class war that has gone on for decades.

I just want better funding for my state schools. I’m happy for private schools to pay VAT if money can go back into the state education pot. Whether private schools pass that cost onto their paying customers is their choice. I don’t have a choice to raise per pupil funding.

Just thinking about my mother, who is very old but wouldn't forgive me for saying how old. She has contributed in so many ways over her long life & is dependent on the BBC for company and entertainment much of the time. No way would she cope with subscriptions. Forget it now.
