@NlAMHMEALONE Cleaner air. Pollution actually noticeably lower from space. People buying less crap which they don’t need and only buying food which they do. Going for walks, cycling, fewer planes in the sky, the quietness, listening to insects and birds sans traffic noise. Lovely lockdown.

The Kenya population is projected to reach 66.45 million in 2030 and increase further to 91.58 million in 2050 and 125.42 million by 2100. By that time there will be no room for elephants and nowhere to move them to. #overpopulation

This is what the palm oil industry is doing to orangutans and biodiversity. The only action which will save them is stopping palm plantation. Stop buying palm. Takes a bit longer but you can exclude it from your shop. Other oils are available which don’t destroy critical habitat.

Not sure which is worse, watching most of human kind literally devour the natural world, or the absurd reasons they use to rationalize it: economic growth, religion, tradition, ignorance etc.

‘Australia is home to more than 350 species of native mammals, 87% of which are found nowhere else on Earth. But with 39 of these species already extinct and a further 110 listed as threatened, there’s every chance many will vanish before you even knew they existed.’

The fast track is clogged with Sixth Mass Extinction traffic. Threats—pastoralism & predation from feral cats and foxes; 85% population decline in 15 years. 😔

‘Loss of biodiversity and ecosystems, eg in the Amazon rainforest, is an immediate, global-scale disaster.’ Quick nod to the rest of the planet and then back to anthropocentrism. Stupid humans still don’t understand that our survival is entirely dependent on the natural world.😞

@BasinRange A lot more devastation will be visited on the earth in the name of ‘sustainable energy solutions’. Greenwash- keeps the greens happy, makes shareholders rich and destroys the environment.

This is difficult but everyone who eats meat should understand the process and suffering imo.

For a while, all this was hidden behind the closed doors of abattoirs. Now we know what goes on, and yet more animals than ever are tortured by Big AG, and most people still eat meat. There's little progress in society, despite easily accessible knowledge and advanced technology.
