And... WWE had absolutely no obligation to look after me through this recovery, (my first contract even expired just as I got a surgery date) but they have, extremely well. I never had to worry about supporting my family while I was laid up, and that debt can never be repaid.

In my day I used to arise from my bed of nails at 2am, cut a promo on my wife, eat a bowl of tarmac, work 12hrs down the mill, do 500 squats whilst cooking egg whites using my hand as the frying pan, set up the ring, wrestle 2hrs and as payment the promoter would set me on fire.

I turned up at a WWE tryout in 2014, out of my depth, William Regal pulled me aside & told me he saw something in me. From that day on, he did everything he could to try to help me develop into the man and performer I am today, & I hope that’ll continue regardless of where he is.

When I was 13, I made and put up posters around my local area for a wrestling show, I didn’t book the venue, a ring, or any wrestlers, I pretty much just forgot about it. Then apparently ten people showed up on the night expecting an extravangza, which confused the venue staff

Tell you what’s mad, when I started wrestling training 10 years ago, nobody in class even knew British Indy wrestling existed before they came to training. Now, every trainee shows up wearing British wrestlers merch and their ambition is to be British Indy wrestlers. Pretty cool
