And the Ally of the Year Award goes to…Carl Cashman!
If you’re gay, and you meet a man like Carl (always championing gay rights) you’re lucky.
Thank you.
@CarlCashman
I don’t know how the BBC are going to top this year. I can’t remember a year of such incredible drama, one after the other, like 2018.

I was looking for some light relief so I started watching ‘Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story’ and, honestly, I love her. So much heartache, but a really positive lady.
I don’t know why Giovanni dancing with Richie moves me so much. Maybe it’s because he’s gay, and Giovanni is straight and he’s absolutely loving it. It’s just…normal.

“They said I was a negro writer and I would reach a very special audience...And I would be dead if I alienated that audience. That, in effect, nobody would accept that book coming from me...My agent told me to burn it.”
- James Baldwin
‘Good Afternoon’ ranks with ‘Who will buy’ and “Thank you very much’ as one of the greatest ever songs written for a musical based on the works of Charles Dickens.

Sava's story is like so many we've been hearing. Forced to leave his home in Kyiv, with his mum. He drove her to the Polish border, said his goodbyes and will now be joining the fight for Ukraine. He said his mother didn't want to go and he doesn't know when they'll be reunited
To all those moaning about this: if adaptations of the classics don’t move with the times they become irrelevant. It’s brilliant. Dark, unsettling…Dickens would have loved it.

Well..something happened tonight.
Thank you to my father for his response - “I’m proud of you.”
And thank you to
@Jake_Daniels11
for giving me the courage to finally do it.

“I have one life and one chance to make it count for something…My faith demands that I do whatever I can, wherever I am, whenever I can, for as long as I can with whatever I have to try to make a difference.”
- Jimmy Carter
“The years have not dimmed the cogency of Solti’s advocacy of the later [Paris] recension; indeed, CD only serves to confirm that this remains one of his most successful Wagner interpretations, particularly so where the additions to the Venusberg scene are concerned.”
One more memory pic from last night
@MetOpera
; Placido Domingo’s 50 years!
Such a huge pleasure to be there to celebrate you!
And:
THANK YOU, my adored Gabriele, for the most MEMORABLE KISS here on stage from your Amelia in ”Simon Boccanegra” in 1999!💋
“For those seeking to understand better this long-distant world, Orme is an authoritative and accessible guide, and this exhaustive and lavishly illustrated study is a must-read.”
This young man is 17 and his bravery gave me the courage to come out to my family at 39.
What more will he achieve in his life? Let’s all just promise to look after him…right?
Promise…?

“In The Facemaker, award-winning historian Lindsey Fitzharris tells the astonishing story of the pioneering plastic surgeon Harold Gillies, who dedicated himself to restoring the faces - and the identities - of a brutalized generation.”
