The @NotreDame campus has come a long way since then….. so has their parking attendants’ abilities. In 1930 they utilized student volunteers to help direct cars - these students had been at The Senior Bar since 8am - Prohibition be damned. 😂 😂 @FightingIrish @NDFootball

This is Knute Rockne’s first home in South Bend. He lived here from 1920-1929. It’s being moved several blocks west as condos will be built here.

A @southshoreline train heading down the middle of LaSalle in South Bend! At first heading East over bridge toward what is now The Pointe Apts. - then was the rail yard. Train then heads west past LaSalle & Hoffman Hotels. Wild! Imagine that today! Driving next to the Southshore!

The Stepan Center at @NotreDame being built in 1962. In its day it hosted many big name speakers, musicians, etc. Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr,… I saw @Outkast there in 1996 & the security made us sit down! At a concert! @BigBoi & Andre couldn’t believe it! @NDArchives

Bow your heads…. This place right here in the 1990s for us was the spot. Mondays at Midnight new releases. Concert tickets 🎟️. Posters. T-shirts. The Town & Country store moved a few times over the years. Western Ave & SR23 (in current Smoke Shop) had an Orbit Music as well.

You wouldn’t know it, but this place used to be extremely popular! In the 90s when boomin systems in cars 🔊 were at their peak, this was Elmo’s Stereo. Man this place had all the speakers, amps, etc. All the sweet classic rides would be parked here getting worked on! U remember?

Love this pic! School Field, Jefferson School, Eddy St, 1954. Mostly everything to the right of Eddy was wiped out to build the Cooper Bridge cloverleafs, drastically changing area. Tons of parked cars! Check out the train between the houses & the visitors stands! Spur track!

The Mighty St Joe River in the early 1970s. The bridge at the bottom is LaSalle, in the middle is Colfax, top is Jefferson. The @centurycenter now stands to the right.
