I'm so incredibly excited to speak
@LaraconUS
in the summer! This means that in one year I'll have spoken at
@LaraconAU
,
@LaraconEU
,
@LaraconIN
, and LaraconUS! I feel like there should be a shirt or pin for collecting them all 😁
Happy to announce two more
@LaraconUS
speakers today...
@rissa_bubbles
and
@joetannenbaum
! 🥳
Laracon will likely be sold out within a few weeks. Snag a ticket if you haven't already!
Unfortunately I've been laid off. However, very fortunately I will be with so many of my favorite people at
@LaraconUS
next week! So looking forward to seeing all my Laravel friends!
Preparing for my talk backstage
@LaraconUS
! I'll be talking about how D&D can make you a better developer right after lunch at 1:40 pm Central Time.
If you want to catch it on YouTube live watch it here:
Recently for my birthday, my partner got me
@BloodClocktower
and I was ecstatic! Today I'm in London to play with the incredible
@NoRollsBarred_
in person! Can't wait for Carley and
@AdamTheBlampied
to destroy me :D
Wow just one or two updates for
@LaravelLivewire
3 that
@calebporzio
mentioned in his talk
@LaraconUS
would have been impressive. However, there were so many but wait there's more moments that it was quite a tour-de-force! To top it off he launched 3 live on stage!
Incredible!
Getting ready for my flight to India for
@LaraconIN
! Just a brisk 17 hour flight 🥲 then an 8 hour layover for a much shorter flight!
Getting so excited! Also preemptively tired, but still very excited!!
I was so nervous about the 8 hour layover in Delhi. I got in at 3am local time, and I wouldn't have felt comfortable sleeping by myself. However, it was the most lovely layover!
@freekmurze
and I played so many games! The time flew by!
Still didn't sleep though 😁
.
@aarondfrancis
is hands down the best MC i’ve ever worked with—kept me calm behind the scenes, made every on-stage interaction with me crystal clear, and responded to all my pre-conference messages in seconds with positive vibes
@ThePrimeagen
you are included in that list for me! Your talk inspired me, and I appreciate your vulnerability on the stage. It was wonderful to get to talk to you afterward! Thanks for the kindness and encouragement you brought to
@LaraconUS
!
i have been to a ton of conferences in the last year and each one has been so great, but i must say that Laracon was something special. I have never been around so many kind and encouraging people.
@taylorotwell
you have built something truly special and i am very honored to
I'm so excited about my talk for
@LaraconOnline
tomorrow on git interactive rebase! My talk and many other amazing ones will be on youtube live tomorrow! Full schedule:
Check out my talk summary:
I just dropped
@jessarchercodes
at the airport, so now
@LaraconUS
feels truly over! Thank you so much Jess for spending a long weekend with me in Austin!
The best part of Laracon is hanging out with friends all over the world. The worst is saying goodbye 😭🫂
Amazing Pulse demo from
@jessarchercodes
! The Pulse dashboard looks beautiful especially in dark mode 😉
Not only was Jess live coding but also included audience participation. My user account "Alexane Daniel" even got on the scoreboard! I only sent over 2000 requests 😁
I've never had a massive room full of people chant my name. Nor a small room. Wow what a wonderful way to get amped for my talk after feeling so sick. Thanks
@vishal_viitor
for such an amazing welcome to India and
@LaraconIN
!
I've been a professional developer for one year today! 🥳 So grateful that
@TightenCo
pays me to learn and work on such cool projects! I can't believe all I've learned in one year. I'm excited to see all the things I'll learn in year two!
There is something so powerful about people that can experience so much pain and then give the world more kindness. These people help flames grow instead of stifling them.
Such as
@aarondfrancis
and
@kapehe_ok
❤️
Sometimes kindness springs from grief.
Your rough edges are worn smooth. You realize that none of this matters. You become softer.
These are two of my happiest pictures ever, but they tell a sad story.
Wow
@kapehe_ok
's talk was just incredible! So many of us were teary-eyed. Very kind of you to not force us to feel alone
@aarondfrancis
!
I highly recommend checking out her talk if you missed it!
So grateful for the wonderful community that
@zuzana_kunckova
created with the
@LarabellesPHP
! I've met so many incredible people because of this group with more joining every Laracon!
Amazing photo skills
@ninjaparade
and thanks
@aarondfrancis
for being the best MC!
Man I am just such a big fat liar. I just got to the
@LarabellesPHP
group photo and I am sorry but I gotta share it.
I hope you all forgive me for not being able to hold back on their combined awesomeness.
For my talk called Tapping into the Power of Junior Developers I made this Early Career Devs Survey:
If you are an early career dev I'd love to hear from you! Else I would love for retweets and shares to get the chance to hear from more early career devs!
I made it HOME! 🎉 I got home about 3am and then slept for 12 hours. I'm so excited to be back and will never forget this incredible trip!
My path home was Udaipur > Mumbai > Delhi > San Francisco (stayed one night here) > Las Vegas > Austin
Miss everyone already! 💜
I still don't understand the rules. But I hit a ball with a bat a couple times and got some runs. Then I threw a ball and got someone out. So I feel like that's a pretty successful first time playing cricket. 🏏🎉
So excited! I have never been to India and I am so delighted to meet the Indian Laravel Community at
#LaraconIN
in 2024!
Any and all recommendations for India are welcome! 😍
🌟 Exciting Update!
📢 Rissa Jackson, a
@laravelphp
&
@vuejs
expert, is set to speak at
#LaraconIN
2024!
@rissa_bubbles

I am so excited to be speaking at my first ever
@LaraconEU
!! I feel incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to be surrounded by so many amazing speakers and developers at such an awesome conference!
Also excited to be in Amsterdam for for the first time. So many firsts!
Happy birthday to the one and only
@jessarchercodes
! An incredible speaker, and an even more lovely human 💜 thanks for all you have given to the Laravel community! Prompts and Pulse?! 😍
Also thanks for trusting me enough not to drop you! Tensions were already high because...
My talk about how D&D can make us better developers is live! Such a fun talk to work on and I felt like I was getting away with something to be able to talk about Dungeons and Dragons on stage
@LaraconUS
😁🧙♂️🎲🪄🧝♀️
About to leave Sydney 😭 and thankfully got some beautiful sun yesterday to get an obligatory acro opera house picture.
The Bondi to Coogee walk was almost perfect but for some rain at the end. However saw an incredible triple rainbow at Coogee beach! 😍🌈
Holi was next level! Thanks for organizing
@LaraconIN
! Currently in Delhi on my way home. Can't wait to go through the pictures and vids and share some once I get back.
I love
@jessarchercodes
delightful throw at the end!
Amazing talk from the 🐐
@jessarchercodes
about analytical databases with some pearls of wisdom!
Although she mentioned stepping into footguns?? What's a footgun 👀👀
Also amazing entrance!
I had such a wonderful time talking to
@peduarte
and
@brunocbreis
about one of my new favorite topics
@raycastapp
❤️
I will happily talk about Raycast anytime if anyone wants to 😍
There's a new What's in my Raycast around!
@rissa_bubbles
is a full-stack developer that has just recently started using Raycast, but already had a lot to share. Check out the video below 👇
Very excited to be speaking at
@LaraconAU
in November! There are so many incredible speakers at LaraconAU that I am so excited to have the opportunity to share the stage with! 💜
Amazing talk from
@ThePrimeagen
! "You can solve hard problems but you cannot sacrifice what is important to do so! It's always worth it to bet on yourself"
Somehow
@joetannenbaum
just can't stop topping himself with the wild stuff he can do with TUIs! Including making a pong game and ASCII videos! Such an amazing and entertaining talk!
Fantastic talk from
@jbrooksuk
on how to do great API documentation really easily
@LaraconAU
!
Also a bonus talk on why he thinks Marmite is better than Vegemite.
Please don't deport him Australia!
Super excited to go to India for
@LaraconIN
to talk about Window Magic and Command Line Wizardry 🥳 but most importantly looking forward to a lot of dancing at the conference! 💃
Thank you so much
@ruchit288
! Thanks for being so kind and taking care of me, Jess, and all the other speakers while we felt awful. Then getting up on stage and crushing your first talk at
@LaraconIN
! So good! It was lovely to meet you!
There's often a lot of hesitation in submitting to a conference because you don't have a talk when submissions open.
Sell the idea of the talk; the event is usually months after the selection is over.
@rissa_bubbles
talks about this on the latest
@ripplesfm
I am so grateful.
My talk is done! It’s out in the world!
🥹
@aarondfrancis
told me he was proud of me
❤️
@rissa_bubbles
was waiting backstage for me with open arms
👏 the speakers green room erupted in cheering when I came back
🥰 such kind words from all of you
You are all
This was such an amazing talk! Daniel is such a fantastic speaker and his ability to improvise and think on his feet is on another level! Check out Verbs!
I don't think I need to recommend you check out
@marcelpociot
talk on NativePHP
@LaraconUS
with all the current hype. However, I still recommend checking it out! Marcel is a wonderful speaker and he does a fantastic job showing off NativePHP!
I'm excited to announce that Laravel has raised a $57M Series A in partnership with Accel.
I believe that Laravel is the most productive way to build full-stack web applications, and Laravel Cloud will be the platform for shipping those applications that this community deserves.
Yes! This talk from
@aarondfrancis
was just incredible!! It was an amazing way to finish
@LaraconUS
. The talk deserved the standing ovation and I honestly was getting a little misty eyed.
Check out this talk and publish your work!!
That. A thousand times that.
Be excited about stuff.
Be weird.
Be curious.
It’s the second time I see his talk and I highly recommend you check out the recording as soon as available.
Wonderful talk from
@adamwathan
that I will definitely having to dig into again afterwards as there were so many knowledge bombs! Such a sweet ending to the talk with singing happy birthday to his daughter!
I updated my website with the
@LaraconEU
talk on Window Magic and Command Line Wizardry 🪄 I'll put the link in the reply for reasons 😁
I haven't yet figured out how to get a preview picture to work here. Does anyone have ideas on how to get it working?
I'm so excited about my talk for
@LaraconOnline
tomorrow on git interactive rebase! My talk and many other amazing ones will be on youtube live tomorrow! Full schedule:
Check out my talk summary:
I feel the same about YOU
@shrutibalasa
! So wonderful to be in the same frame as you and get the opportunity to share the stage with you in Amsterdam and Udaipur! 💜
Never thought I’d be in the same frame as these many amazing people 🤯
This is one of my favourite pictures now. Will treasure this and refer again whenever I tend to feel “I’m not enough”.
Thanks to all the organisers at LaraconIN
One of the best parts of
@jbrooksuk
talk
@LaraconEU
is when he and
@LukeDowning19
squashed their beef. A lot of hurtful words were said (nincompoop 😬), but peace has finally been achieved with the help of
@Caneco
! ☮️🕊️
@joetannenbaum
showing off the amazing new extension for Laravel on VSCode onstage
@LaraconUS
! Autocomplete, hovering, linking, and quick fixes. This is going to be so helpful!
Thank you so much! I was so nervous the screen capture wouldn't work correctly, so my backup plan was to use the terminal. One time when worrying about things going wrong paid off 😅
Can we all just stop for a minute and acknowledge that
@rissa_bubbles
STOPPED her presentation mid-sentence, hopped over to a terminal, demoed git interactive rebase LIVE, and then went back to the talk like nothing happened???
Absolutely the live coding MVP of the day. Wow. 🤯
Incredible talk from
@enunomaduro
about Pest! So excited for the Stressless Stress Testing from Pest!
Good thing the
@LaraconAU
website held up to the stress testing 😁
Whoa I just hit 500 followers! Thank you so much for the support, friendship, and opportunity to be part of such a wonderful community 💜 I really appreciate all of you!
Anything these guys do is super high quality! I highly recommend checking out any course
@aarondfrancis
and
@steve_tenuto
make. Even if know a lot about Postgres I'm sure you'll learn more 🤯🤓
📣 We're excited to announce Mastering Postgres, a video course coming October 15th.
@steve_tenuto
and I started this business with dreams to improve the quality of database education.
With the help of
@xata
, this course is our next step in that direction.
Honestly this is one of my favorite talks ever! Laravel Prompts are already neat, but the way
@jessarchercodes
demos them is a masterclass in how to give a great tech talk!
Also vim references always get a 💜 from me!
Hands down,
@jessarchercodes
' session on Laravel Prompts is my favorite thing to come from Laracon this year! So good--make sure to give this talk a listen!
Wonderful talk from
@ktrajchevska
about maximizing your team's performance
@LaraconEU
! Love this topic and how Katerina broke it down!
"Improving the developer experience improves the team's performance." So true yet too frequently ignored.
Great talk from
@_joshhanley
about Building a Maintainable
@LaravelLivewire
Application!
Gotta make your life easier for when looking at your own code 6 months later!
Even if we could would we want to? That man has thought more about dropdowns than I've ever wanted to and thankfully now I don't have to. Thanks
@calebporzio
! 🥳🔥🔥🔥
Having now watched
@calebporzio
's Livewire keynote from
#LaraconUS
() in full, I can reiterate with 100% confidence that no, the majority of us could not build Flux ourselves.
I'm so excited to announce Laravel Herd - a completely free macOS app to get started with PHP on your system.
No brew required, built-in PHP updates and much more.
We've been working on this for the last couple of weeks and I'm super proud of it.
Git tip: one of my favorite shortcuts is is using '-'
For instance git checkout - takes me to the last branch I checked out. It really speeds up my git flow.
What is your favorite git shortcut?
