When Kibaki appointed Alfred Mutua to be government spokesman, he was only 34. In 2012 he resigned and became Governor at 42 which he did for 10 yrs before now becoming CS Foreign Affairs & Diaspora Affairs. By any standard, this is a colorful public service career to have at 52.

Relative to income levels, almost everything in Nairobi is OVERPRICED. From basic foodstuff to real estate property. From my experience, the cost of living in Nairobi is actually more expensive than some cities in Europe when fully adjusted for incomes & living standards. Yes!

Kenya's biggest export markets are Uganda, USA, Netherlands, Pakistan, TZ, UAE. Uganda alone is over 11% of all exports and Italy is not even a paltry 1%. But when a Summit comes up, we dont even ask what's in it for us given the numbers, we just pack and go.

We are regressing as a country in financial inclusion by heavily charging SMALL investors... CDSC has announced effective 15th July there will be an account maintenance fee of KES 100 a month... KES 1200 is a huge portion of many retail portfolios. This is regressive!

I would support a plan where Kenya exports 200K skilled workers every yr to Europe, USA, Dubai, & Australia. Kenya has an oversupply of talented and skilled people and the world is willing to pay the price. Labour mobility is a good thing and we cant absorb all our talent locally
