the easiest way to be an ‘ally’ to the disabled community right now is to wear a mask—even when you’re the only one in the room doing it. if it feels awkward, imagine how awkward it is to care more about what other people think than actual lives 🤷

one of the hardest parts about trying to have healthy communication around covid these days is that many have resorted to lying. you can open conversation around safety only to find out later that your friends were going out, weren’t wearing masks, and even had covid but hid it.

i think john greens [now deleted] response to disabled people being concerned over his lack of covid care really misses the point. he has deeply studied TB, but says he’s ‘trusting local doctors’ with covid. when has a local doctor ever shown concern over TB even?

we call big concerts “superspreaders” because people go, get sick, and spread illness to grocery stores, on public transit, and ultimately, doctors offices. immunocompromised people still have to live, and nowhere is safe because you didn’t wear a mask to a concert. it spreads.
