This what happens when lawlessness is allowed to thrive and police abolitionists dictate public safety policies. The City of Austin needs to get serious about police staffing/ retention and focus on getting Austin back to being a safe city....

If you're going to defund and destroy a police department as their mayor then attend a highly respected officer's funeral, perhaps do not continue to disrespect that officer's family, friends, and other officers by falling asleep.
You have time and time again shown nothing but contempt and utmost disrespect towards the men and women of the Austin Police Department but also our families
@MayorAdler
Casar is taking some big losses tonight...Prop B, Socialist Dollars, and Strong Mayor all looking like they, like his influence, is going down the proverbial dumpster fire.
See below my statement regarding the recent indictment against me and 18 other police officers led by liberal Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza.

Anyone else in Austin think we should "Reimagine" some funds away from the feel good social justice jokers and "re-invest" in life saving critical infrastructures that have been far too neglected? I think it's time to "divest" from radical agendas and get back to the basics.
The Austin City Council just cut $150 million in funds to the Austin Police Department as part of their efforts to defund law enforcement. This radical, irresponsible decision is yet more proof that they believe partisan politics now take precedence over public safety.
Today commonsense was restored. It was a great moment to be there as
@GovAbbott
signed these 4 bills focused on keeping our communities safe, and holding those who have been derelict in their duties, accountable. Thank you to all the authors and co-authors of these bills!
In Texas, we support the men & women of law enforcement — we don't demonize or defund them.
Proud to sign 4 different bills that will STOP cities from defunding police & penalize rioting.
Thanks to
#txlege
members for getting this emergency item to my desk.

It is inexcusable that Austin has canceled the Veterans Day Parade! The City has allowed many other large events to go on & there hasn't been any issues from ACL, Soccer, or UT Football. Our Veterans carry an incredible load during and after their services. Let them march! 🇺🇸
Vote for Prop B. It's rather sad that the local ANTIFA bandits are trying to intimidate community members, elected officials, police officers with acts of violence & property destruction. They win when you don't vote.

As the polls come to a close. I want to personally thank
@MattMackowiak
@dallaslatina
@SaveAustinNow
& the entire Austin community who came out to vote FOR Prop A and worked tirelessly. As a local police officer I cannot thank you enough for all you have done for US. ⚫💙⚫
Trooper Walker faithfully served the people of Texas. He is a true public servant who sacrificed his life & decided to share his gift of life with others so they may have a fuller life. Our hearts and love go out to his family.
Thank you
@FoxNews
for covering this story.
I am proud to be in this fight to restore common sense policies that put the safety of the community we serve 1st!
Join me in supporting Prop A this election day and cast your vote 🗳 for a safer Austin.
This past week we had several officers resign from APD. These officers were not the bad ones, rather the kind of officers critics have demanded we hire. Retaining our great officers should be just as important as rooting out the few bad ones. Sadly, we will lose more of the good.
Hi. I'm a Texas Republican who's also a police officer. I'm not going to beg for your follow. Nor abandon my duty to carry out my job as a public servant, like many others such as
@VikkiGoodwinTX
who are proudly bragging about abdicating their responsibilities.
There are a lot more that are planning on just resigning once they get their acceptance letters from other agencies. The City Council fails to understand the gravity of what this means for the general safety of the very community they are responsible for.
Many thanks to these brave linemen. They epitomize "Texas Grit". April 18 (National Lineman's Day) should definitely be celebrated when this is all said and done.

It is VERY important for the public to know who Trudy Strassburger is. She is a BLM activist who is Travis County DA's

As you, the community, start to see indictments of officers begin to increase, remember this post. The Travis County...
After Vikki Goodwin infamously wrestled a mic from a colleague's hand in order to kill legislation that would have allowed Lost Creek to leave Austin, she promised a meeting with voters to discuss that decision for tomorrow. Yet again bailing on the same constituents again.
Got another crappy call last night about the loss of another friend and colleague. I'll always remember some great days on our DTAC MetTac team. You had a huge heart and always kept it real lol. I wish you knew how much you are missed and by how many Kristy. I'll miss your crazy
The total vote for the Texas House District 47 race has been released. Today’s results, though not what I had hoped for, are the final. For me, I do not view this outcome as a loss, rather another moment of adversity. I am so extremely proud of my entire team...
Join me &

What happens when the Travis County District Attorney, Jose Garza DIMISSES 2 charges 4 Aggravated Robberies with a Deadly Weapon to secure a plea deal on a 3rd Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly weapon that ensures the immediate release of a known violent serial offender???...
The Austin Police Department says their detectives have made an arrest in connection with two recent murders. They will be providing an update at 11:30 a.m.
I'm honored and excited to be endorsed by Governor
@GregAbbott_TX
! I look forward to working with him for the people of western Travis County and all Texans. Early voting is June 29th - July 10th. The Runoff Election is July 14th!
This is what love looks like. As this officer got separated from his unit, he was protected by the very citizens he was trying to protect. This....this is how we heal. This is how we improve. This is LOVE! This is HOPE. This is the community I know and I see!
The silence by
@MayorAdler
and the rest of City Council EXCLUDING
@MK6ATX
Councilwoman Kelly can only be taken that they condone, tolerate, and accept the violence against members of their police department. I say this bc how quick they have been to condone other acts of violence
I'm really proud of the
@SaveAustinNow
coalition for their herculean effort to ensure the City of Austin step up and clean up due to the passage of Prop B. Resuls have been slow to start but atleast starting none theess. Well done

for your commitment
🤔...so out of the 9611 traffic stops done by
@TxDPS
ONLY 38 African Americans were arrested for a misdemeanor. So basically ~0.39% of all of DPS stops lead to the misdemeanor arrest of an African American, and this is the traditional Austin hysteria of labeling law enforcement
As I continue to wait for the rest of the votes to be counted in my race before I give any formal statement about our campaign efforts, I wanted to take a moment & say how proud I am of my fellow Republicans for staying calm & peaceful as we push for transparency in our elections
I believe in fully funded, effective, and responsible policing. That means body cameras, de-escalation training, accountability, and giving officers the resources they need to do their jobs well.
IT'S OFFICIAL! All the ballots have now been counted and we're in the May 26th runoff! I want to send a huge thank you to everyone who helped our campaign cross the finish line, but especially my beautiful bride Jamie who has supported me through this whole campaign!
It is a huge honor to have been appointed by
@GovAbbott
to serve as a crime victims advocate to the Texas Crime Victims' Institute Advisory Council. We must never allow the voices of the victimized to be silenced nor allow policy to embolden criminal behavior.
#SAFETexas
My condolences to Officer Steve Urias' family and to all of APD.
COVID is an equal opportunity killer. It doesn't care if you're a hero or if you're physically strong. Police officers are in harm's way every day, but the virus makes interactions even riskier.
Thank you
@GovAbbott
! I've received many many many phone calls today from concerned residents and businesses. I look forward to helping address this, this next session an ensure this dereliction of duty is not tolerated.

Biden State Dept. spokeswoman called police 'largest threat to US national security': Report
The below article highlights one of many failures of a city council who refused to question the consequences of the insane demands of a few radicals who successfully implemented anti-police staffing measures, cut positions and canceled 3 academy classes.
With all of my heart, thank you. Because of YOU, we made the runoff with all the momentum on our side! Jamie & I are so grateful for your prayers & support. We faced incredibly tough challenges these past few weeks but with you in our corner, we kept the faith & broke through!
Funny and sad story. My liberal opponent, Ellen Troxclair, who previously joined the far left Austin City Council to defund police - just had her team file a false ethics complaint against me yesterday, which was then swiftly dismissed by the Texas Ethics Commission today!
In less than 12 hours there were 2 shootings that became homicides and 4 stabbings throughout all of Austin. Yet, the progressive leadership is pleased with their defunding and dismantling of APD.
#FreedomCityFailure
Despite the many attempts to slander the image and reputation of our police officers, they still face deadly scenes with courage, bravery & a unified commitment to save lives. Last, night's mass shooting still leaves the question of our city's public safety unanswered
AUSTIN MASS SHOOTING: In this new video, APD officers can be seen carrying a victim away from the scene after the 6th Street shooting that sent at least 13 to the hospital | STORY:
What does the de-funding, I mean de-policing, look like?
The ENTIRE Parks division, Street Gang Unit, Municipal Court Unit, Executive Protection Unit has been dissolved.
HALF the Community Policing officers, the DWI unit, the Commercial Vehicle Unit, Property Crimes Unit,
Must read! Travis County DA again circumventing the law to intentionally release criminals regardless of the existence of probable cause AS DETERMINED BY A JUDGE. This one man rule of law is not how our judicial system was established. Where else are victims to turn to?

Now that Prop B has passed, it's time to get to the real work. Improving the situation around Austin with compassion and realistic solutions. Here is my proposal that I posted in 2019.
@mkelly007
🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
@MayorAdler
I think they've been pretty upfront about trying to refund the dept of the $150mil you took away and to beef up the staffing that yall took away, like the 150 officer positions you still haven't returned yet.
Save Austin Now is lying about their petition. Their goal is to force Austin to pump tens of millions of dollars into the police department without any accountability. Join me in rejecting this misleading campaign and rejecting Save Austin Now.
We just lost another officer. I lost a person I called a friend & my Sgt. RIP brother, you will be greatly missed. Thank you for all you have done for me through out my career. You were an incredible supervisor! Enjoy your heavenly retirement. I'll have more to say on this later.
Under my plan any city that defunds police will have their property tax revenue capped at current levels.
Cities can’t cut law enforcement & then turn around and increase taxes on the residents they just endangered.
More announcements soon.

Sadly, we lost another officer this morning 😔. To Officer B's family, shift, and loved ones. I am terribly sorry for yalls emense loss. The world lost another great man, father, husband, and officer.

4 shootings, 2 Murders...welcome to the Reimagined Austin. Defunding Law Enforcement has consequences. Lets call the defunding agenda what it is, the removal of consequences. None of which addresses the unlawful behavior of those individuals who commit crimes.
Homicide investigation underway on 6th street. Police tell us this started as a fight call. Female victim taken away and died at the hospital.Police say this was the 4th shooting tonight. No suspects in custody. Possible male suspect.

you may recognize him from the smell. No it's not his rampant homeless encampments you are smelling, it's the🐂 💩 from his mouth. Removing 1/3 (~$150mil) of the police budget, cutting 150 officer positions is defunding. Go reimagine yourself!

The corruption at the District Attorney's Office will be revealed in due course. Makes it one wonder why the local Austin media had been so silent in one of the greatest criminal scandals in Travis County's history 🤔
In the Sgt Daniel Perry case,
@JosePGarza
doesn’t want you to see the court filings. He’s filed a motion to seal so you can’t see what’s going on. We’re fighting back.
🤔 this office under DSA DA, Jose Garza, is starting to show a pattern of withholding evidence from the Grand Jury and engaging in political persecutions. He got caught, I'm sure more will come to light in due time.
NEW: Travis DA Jose Garza is dropping charges against one of the first Austin officers he indicted, saying that prosecutors have become aware of evidence favorable to him. “I offer my sincere apologies,” Garza said.

Austin Police Officers being politically persecuted for fullfilling our oath to defend and protect our community and the Capitol during the Austin riots of 2020.
I extend my sincere congratulations to my friend and colleague, Elise Stefanik. As I said from the beginning, our goal was to provide an alternative with a proven record of standing up not for politicians — but for freedom, the Constitution, & the conservative principles... (1/5)

Homelessness is a matter of public safety. We MUST find practical, compassionate solutions to homelessness that protect our communities and address the root causes of homelessness to help people turn their lives around.

When you raise taxes, landlords raise rents to cover the tax increase you voted for. Economics 101. If you ran off the investors who rent out THEIR property then even more ppl would be homeless.
