On 12/30/23, I had emergency brain surgery to remove a large brain bleed. I have 49 staples in my head. God has been gracious & I am expected to make a full recovery. Life is a gift.

Thanks to everyone who has prayed for me kidney transplant! I’m in the hospital recovering from Friday’s surgery. New kidney is working great. I’m adjusting to all the new medications, which has been the hardest part. If all goes well I may get to go home tomorrow.

@pastorclint When I moved to our rural community in KY (population 850) in 2010, we had over 1,000 members, but an avg attendance of 250. We have removed about 500 over the last decade. It is a long process of seeking to reach the de-churched, but by God's grace some have come back.

Followed with my neurosurgeon today & reviewed my recent CT scan. No more bleeding on the brain. Drained some fluid that had collected under my skin. Got a great report. The Lord has been good to me. Thankful and blessed.

Please pray for my Dad, Donnie Carwile. Dad has lung cancer & I took him to the ER at UofL today. His oxygen was low & he was struggling to breathe. He has declined throughout the day & is now in the ICU & about to be put on a ventilator. We are resting in Jesus & praying.

3 1/2 weeks ago I was rushed to the hospital via ambulance for surgery to remove a large pocket of blood from my brain. Today I drove and went to the office for the first time since then. Grateful and blessed.

Prayer Request: We are in the ICU at Dayton Children’s Hospital. Our daughter Caroline had her 2nd jaw surgery yesterday (part 2 of the surgery she had on 5/23). Pray for rest & recovery. It’s been a long road for her this summer. Final surgery will be in next 2 weeks.

4 months ago today, I was being wheeled into an operating room to receive a new kidney. Today, I am down 35 lbs, feel better than I have in years, and my new kidney is functioning great. The Lord has been gracious to me!

Back in the hospital, 2 weeks after I got a kidney transplant. A rash, intense nerve pain & a fever brought me to the ER at UK on Thursday night. Running lots of tests and scans. Please pray for clarity on what is going on & for the new kidney to be ok.

I'll be seeing my neurosurgeon at 2:30 EST tomorrow & if all goes well, I'll be getting the 50 staples out of my skull from my 12/30/23 brain surgery. Appreciate prayers. Headaches are much better (have only had 1 Tylenol today), still a lot of swelling on left side of face.

I am thankful for @drmoore & the @ERLC . They have my full support. Our church increases our @SBCCP each year. We don't give because of who is leading the @ERLC , the @IMB_SBC or the @SBCExecComm , we give because we believe in cooperation to get the gospel to the nations!

@howertonjosh This whole thing is gaining momentum, in part, b/c a lot of pastors are frustrated that someone has multiple staff helping with their sermons, preaching sermons from others....when they (other pastors) are grinding it to get out a sermon every week with no help/staff/borrowing.

@JimmyScroggins Something to consider: Large churches will have to shift drastically, but the SBC is a convention of primarily smaller churches. If guidelines are shifted to 50 or less, or 100 or less....most of our SBC churches can start meeting, some may need 2 services, but we can gather.

I am in the ICU with Dad. He is not doing well and the prognosis is not good. The next 24-48 hours are pretty critical. We are praying for a miracle and trusting God with whatever may come. Dad is heavily sedated, on a ventilator and is comfortable.

Dad Update: I just talked with Dad's nurse. They were able to stabilize his oxygen and move him to a regular ICU room. He can now have 1 visitor, so I am heading there to be with him. He will continue to be sedated. Please continue to pray.

@edstetzer I was at #T4G22 and observed the opposite of everything this writer describes. I saw attendees praying with people who worked at the Convention Center. I saw long lines of people at restaurants graciously & patiently waiting. We tipped 20-30% at every restaurant we ate at.
