Unpopular opinion: you don’t need a masters/PhD to do research or break into the industry. It’s definitely tricky, but at times where one doesn’t have finances, time to devote, the ability to leave their country - know that nothing is stopping you!

I nearly failed during my undergrad. I still remember the horror of seeing an exam paper & knowing nothing, getting 42/100 (40 was the cutoff). 3 years later, I was the batch topper. Tbf, I wasn’t even sure back then if engineering was the right choice for me.

College “tiers” and do they matter? They don’t, we need to start giving people equal chances. A written offer I had received was slashed by 40% after they learnt I wasn’t from IIT. From over 3 years of hiring in industry & research, I feel, it doesn’t. What do you think?

As interviewers, there's nothing wrong in being flexible or explaining concepts in detail to the interviewee. In fact, it's a good way to see how people deal with such situations. The next time you take/give an interview, don't hesitate in being more open. Communication is key!

In the 100+ interviews I’ve taken I’ve rarely seen people focus on these. At the end of the day, we want to work with fellow humans, the interview isn’t a test but checking for a mutual fit. Next time; don’t be so scared, be confident, and be yourself!

@khushbooverma_ Here’s what I followed (not sure if it’s the best, but it never let stress get to me): Only invest in what you understand, rather than following a herd mentality (easier to fall into this nowadays). Educate yourself more, then invest.
