Proud father above all. Sports Junky. Love anything & everything outdoors including a topwater & a round of 18. Golf Course Superintendent at The Sagamore Club
Had some vandalism last night at Sag.... problem for them is they let their parents garage door opener fall of their cart which they were using to do donuts in a fairway bunker. Time drive the neighborhood and see which door opens up.....
Not many folks would guess that these 5410's are about to embark on their 13th season at Sagamore. Reels ground, set, & ready for earthworm castings. 🤦♂️
Please welcome Kennedy Elizabeth Grogan born today at 4:59 PM. 8 lb, 12.8 oz, 21 3/4" long. Both baby girl and Mama are doing great!!!! Thanks to everyone who had us in their thoughts and prayers. Wow. Magical day for our family!!!! Truly blessed!!!!
I would love to find this ace in the deck and give them a giant hug and buy them dinner!!!! Perhaps the most beautiful sight I can ever remember seeing on the practice tee.

If you’re currently in the market for a new sod cutter I highly recommend the Blue Bird SC 550. Cuts like paper, easy depth changes, no rear wheel depressing sod, 4 wheel drive, multiple cutting speeds, and even has reverse!!!!
I say let's create our own tournament with
@GCSAA
ran by the actual Superintendent. Vendors sponsor the tournament as they do for others. We know the course, we know the grass, we know the rules, so let's do our tourney and all proceeds go to supporting our Vets. Who's in?
Speechless. These guys honestly think a course hosting a major championship are out adding sand to bunkers after the 1st round because the players didn’t get rewarded for bad shots? 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Could use some extra prayers for my badass nurse & wife tomorrow. She returns back to work after 5 days off. First confirmed Indy Corona death occurred today at the hospital where she works. 🙏🙏🙏
Caught off guard today..... Flagged down by a Member and my first thought is to what we can improve upon on the course.... Only to be complimented about it being the best conditioned course has seen at Sagamore since he was a member, which is 15 years. That's why I love this job!
Can we find the manufacturer of these tee’s and start a petition to end these once and for all!!! Sincerely all bedknife and reels across the globe!!!!

Getting the sprayers/nozzles calibrated before the 2019 season. A nice tool to have before you decide to just buy new nozzles because it's a new season. Goal is to have all nozzles within 10% +/- of target output.

2 years ago today was supposed to be the birth of our 3rd kiddo. Hard to imagine how crazy 3 toddlers would of been but big man had other plans. RIP Charlie
There hasn't been many of these sent my way this year as it has been a very tough year for myself & Superintendent's across the country. That's the best part about this job is staring adversity in the face then punching it in the throat & coming back on top. 👊👊👊
The Mrs. Is going under the knife this afternoon for a procedure on her knee. Her heart defect with a valve puts her at high risk for complications so some good vibes sent her way would be much appreciated!!!!
A little turf hack I use for collars that don’t wanna hold water. Flow Zone backpack sprayer with a tee jet nozzle spiked with an 8 oz Aqueduct concoction.

You know what's cool? The fact that twitter verse for Turfies lasts well past the end of our day at work. How many things do you learn after hours on here to incorporate the next day, next week, or to try the following year.

Yesterday would have been the birth of our 3rd kiddo that we lost early in pregnancy. Could use an extra shot of prayers our way as we continue to realize how crazy it is with 2 and how 3 would of been even crazier but we would have figured it out!!!!
Passing the torch of clean living to our new 2nd Assistant Blake Notzen. He joined the Turf Squad on Monday after graduating from Purdue in May.

Best piece of equipment we've ever had. Multiple uses for Ventrac-- we now have sod cutter, trencher, aerifier, tough cut deck, & contour deck for unit. Cart path edger coming soon. 👍👀👍
No tricked out green speeds, no bunker rakes for caddies, very little primary rough, no step cut, weeds, gorse and inconsistent nasty fescue areas, and here we r with a stern test of golf to close out the Open Championship. Kudos to
@RandA
&
@GraemeBeatt
for a job well done
And that’s a wrap on deep tining fairways. 1,576,872 sq feet punched at 6” depth, hit 3 shallow laterals, half a broken neck & back but process turned out great. 53 hours to complete all 36.2 acres..... 🥱🥱🥱
Painting cups isn’t labor intensive nor is it expensive. Adds an extra 45 seconds tops to each cup changed. It’s the first and last impression when on putting surface so it better be perfect. Just my 2 cents

Patience is not one of my vertues but it paid off this week. Didn't try and beat mother nature and waited for some sunshine. Aerification 2018 complete. Lots of holes, sand, and high quality oxygen flowing to some roots!!!! Thanks for nothing mother nature!!! Crew crushed it!!!!
