ISU Baseball Head Coach Mitch Hannahs on the Sycamores not hosting a Regional: "If you think about where we were and where we've come to the fact that we are mad about not hosting is a testament to what our players have done and raising the standard in our program."
"We haven't been the flashiest team out there, but man these guys fight. They've fought all year. They are very humble kids and people jump to root for guys like that.
What they've done for our program, we can never repay them. We will be in debt to these guys for a long time."
Mitch: "This is the first time we've really ignited our fan base. I've never seen them like this and I think a lot goes back to not just winning, but how you win. These guys went about it in the way they played. That's why our fan base was so excited to follow this group."
Coach Schertz on this year: "It's been an amazing run to go on this journey with this team, with our program, with this community. What they've done could never be repaid."
"Something I will never forget and it's something the people of Terre Haute will never forget either."
Mitch Hannahs: "There are groups that come along that change programs. They are special group. They are very close. They are connected. They do things the right way and they work hard to get better and humble. People want to cheer for groups like that."
Most coaches never know when their last practice of the season will be. Coach Schertz and the Sycamores got to soak in a final session today.
"This is the second time in my career that you know the last game. Guys are in a great frame and now we are ready to go."
Mike Sears: "We always talk about making the program better than when we got there and this group has raised that bar to a place that not even we thought we could do."
Grant Magill: "The kind of relationships that you get to make on teams that make Regionals and Supers last year you get so close with these guys and now obviously it's the end so the end of the game emotion is different. A whole lot different."
ISU Catcher and MVC Defensive Player of the Year Grant Magill has roughly 30 family members in attendance this weekend in Fort Worth.
ISU vs TCU game 2 set for 8pm EST.

Jake Odum on ISU parting ways with Lansing: "I was disappointed. I owe Coach Lansing a lot. All you can do is move on past that. All I can do is look back on the memories and people will look back down the road and realize how special these last years were for Indiana State."

Randy Kelley: "Everyone knew what was going to happen. Luke kicked it back to me. I looked up there was 3 seconds left. I got the look I wanted, stepped back, and it went in."

@IndStBaseball
handed the keys to Mitch Hannahs.
Since taking over in 2013, Hannahs has led the Sycamores to 311 wins and 4 NCAA Tournaments.
We take a look back tonight at 6pm.
Drew Cook is averaging 19.9 ppg this season for the 7-3 Northview Knights.
He has TWO very big motivating factors.
1) Earning a scholarship
2) Play for his grandpa
Robbie Avila, Julian Larry, and Isaiah Swope all shared their frustration today with not being in the NCAA Tournament, but these Sycamores are excited to host SMU Wednesday at Hulman Center in the NIT.
Hats off to seniors Randy Kelley, Rocco Roshel, Jackson Hills, and Jack Ridgway for a great run. Kelley put this team on his back the last couple of weeks.
Now, time is of the essence for a prideful Sycamore Basketball program that has a re-energized fan base and plenty of big decisions to make about the future in the coming days.
Terre Haute’s own Mike Stoffers has been named the 2022 Mildred Ball Award Winner by the IBCA. Stoffers just wrapped up his 33rd season as an official.
If you’ve been to Bob Warn Field the last couple of weekends you probably noticed this guy FRONT and CENTER.

Hear from him tonight at 6pm on WTWO.
Mitch Hannahs on Cutts: "That's the guy that we watched all year so it was great to see him have a day like that and obviously something that our team needed."
Packers TE Dominique Dafney credits his final game with
@IndStFB
where he rushed for 244 yards and scored 5 total TDs as a big reason for his success today.
"Like most people you just take it and run with it. I had great numbers and we had a great game."
Hulman Center erupted as Jaden entered the game last night, but how special has this season been for Coach Schertz to have his son by his side and who really runs the operation?
We investigate tonight on
