My son has enough issues with just wearing his mouthpiece to wrestle let alone having to use that and then having to wear mask over top of that. It is just plain craziness that they think these kids should be wearing a mask to compete in any sport.

One of the worst parts of youth and even some hs wrestling events is that you have parents sitting right along matside screaming like lunatics like it is a gladiator pit. It creates an environment that is conducive to having conflict.

A piece of advise I could ever give a young coach is don’t sacrifice your principles for short term success. you’ll never be satisfied from it and most likely will regret it later. As a young coach it’s easy to get caught up in wanting to have instant success for your program.

Working on some stuff with girl's wrestling at HS level. The stats of increase in girl's participation is quite telling when girl's wrestling is added as a state championship. The biggest increases included: Missouri: 440%, New Jersey 258%, Georgia 117%

Life as a sport parent was a lot easier when my kids didn’t wrestle. Such a tough thing to watch your kids compete in wrestling. There is clearly nothing else like it. I have and can watch my kids do any other sport but wrestling is just a different beast. 😀

Detroit definitely has the potential to be one of the best NCAA's ever from a fan perspective, IMO. If the weather stays decent, it is going to be a great fan experience. So many cool restaurants, coffee shops and bars in the area.

A year ago he was the last seed in this tournament and was like 5-15 on the season and lost by bonus points like 10 times. This year he finishes season 20-5 w/ 3 of his losses to same kid. Finished 3rd in the league & 4th in the sectional. Had some great wins. #veryproud

Not too long ago we were not selling out the hockey areas and look where we are going now. Celebrate the fact that this can even be attempted now. Yes it comes with risks but it also comes with the potential for great reward for the sport.
