Today I maybe screaming helplessly with excruciating pain, even while on morphine. I maybe have lost it a few times to the pain and been out of my senses. But i believe, i can hope for a better tomorrow, less pain, less tears and a hope I will return with a big smile to my boys.

While recovering in ICU, I had the honor of meeting one of the Neuro heads here, Wonderful gentleman, spoke a word or two of Dhivehi to me which he says he picked up from patients. He thinks I'm the best type for a recovery, one with a smile.

For me it's the stroll in the morning after Fajr. When barely anyone is around. The cool wind, the birds, the breaking of the light on the trees, houses and streets. Little tea corner shop with the warm orange light. The old man with the bicycle on his rounds. Magical.

Yesterday I had to focus on every single breath, just so I don't spasm. But even then, when my spine isn't able to support me, I held on to everything I could, took a shower. Today i did all that and walked with my cane to the sofa. So hell yeh, one step at a time.
