Two of the largest protest movements in recent history said "no cops" and "no rapists" and now we're supposed to vote specifically for a cop/rapist combo??
The CDC hiding replies about masks and repeat infections (including their own sources??) is one of the creepiest parts of the pandemic so far.
Whatever guidance is happening in the background at CDC must be horrifyingly pro-death
Your next COVID-19 infection could be your worst, so don't gamble with your health. Vaccination reduces risks and severity and keeps you protected.
Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines:

I need y'all to stop making fun of people getting covid repeatedly!!
People who wear n95s everywhere are starting to get it repeatedly, including me.
-It's very contagious.
-Workers are in a constant soup of virus.
-Persistent infections might be within households.
Anyone else doing a lot of anti-covid work always get people telling you "wow it's so great that you do that, that's so nice" (while they take no precautions at all)?
We have covid AGAIN. Partner got it at work, must be through the hvac.
Symptoms line up with what people report with JN.1.
We've had it almost every other month since the spring so we haven't been able to wait the 3 months to get vaccinated.
We're not okay! Immunity is a lie!
This and: wear a mask, ask others to wear a mask, hand out masks, share masked selfies, defeat the notion that masks are unpopular or non-essential.
Protect ourselves by normalizing mask wearing!
@melhuman
Yes, everything feels futile. The American machine marches on, consuming its citizens and all other unfortunate earth residents in its path. America must survive and America means stocks and guns and oil and corn and jails and
This is the root of why I do everything I do. If I can't do something for my own sake I at least know that it might make it easier for someone else ❤️

When he asks
why I’m wearing a mask
I tell him it’s because
if there is someone here
wearing a mask
I don’t want
them to feel alone
and when he points out
that I’m currently
the only one masked
I look at him and say
yes, but that could change.
Have people ascribing weird behavior to COVID considered that it's extremely difficult to live during a collapse and that this behavior is most likely a result of compounding personal and community crises?
Rent must be forgiven, not frozen. At a 30% and growing unemployment rate, if the renter class if forced to pay multiple months of rent at once we will see mass homelessness and extreme poverty (which will also cause a second wave of the pandemic.)
#CancelRent
Was forced to be maskless after surgery in a large PACU where no one wore masks. An OR worker got visibly angry when I requested they wear n95s. She wouldn't even tie her surgical mask straps in the OR. All the other OR workers besides my surgeon refused to wear n95s to my face
There is no excuse as to why hospitals and doctors’ offices don’t wear masks. These are places where people are supposed to get treated for illnesses, not be made to feel worse. No one should fear going to a hospital for fear of becoming more sick than they already are.

And these are the same people freaking out thinking LGBTQ grooming, pedos everywhere, and trans people preying on them in bathrooms are real 😑
The call is coming from in the house!
@MuseWendi
Many left organizers immediately went back to irl meetings & social gatherings as soon as it was socially acceptable. They didn't care to retain the disabled people who were finally able to collaborate due to the newly remote access.
Collective liberation can not be reached without masks…

This is amazing, thank you! I only buy refurbished phones and they have lasted exactly as long as brand new ones that other people buy. There are enough devices in the world right now- we don't need more!

Even as a white person growing up affected by the incarceration of my parents I knew acutely how difficult & dangerous it makes your life, now seeing people get arrested for no strategic purpose just for cred & media makes me soo mad. it feels counter to abolition & solidarity
@Gaza_Psych
Malnutrition/starvation and dehydration can make all their electrolytes and neurotransmitters really messed up. They would be much more susceptible to neurological and cardiac issues on top of the trauma 💔
Criticize people for the things they can control. That might include the way they talk about the virus, masking, testing. Not everyone can afford tests, and mask blocs can't be a substitute for public health.
Please stop boosting health supremacy content!
You are not superior for having evaded being sick.
Some of us work in public, have forced exposure in medical settings, are children... you're not acting like you're on our side when say your body is more valuable than ours.

for the first time and it shows how much money goes to the worker, to the store, and the app. It seems like a much better service for all of us! The person who shopped for me was incredibly helpful
@Imani_Barbarin
When extraction of our bodies and of nature is the root of capitalism and hierarchy, and we all face disability at some point in our lives, disability is the most common potentially radicalizing identity.
All serious belief about revolution should work from this premise!
@Kaitlin_M_Ruiz
How is everyone here not mentioning what he cared deeply about??? The health and safety of the earth and its people. It wasn't an apolitical spiritual act. His last post was about air quality!
We're willing to fight in the streets to stop cops and rapists, but we accept this in the voting booth? What's it going to take for us to turn our backs on the Dems?
Are the US protestors going to mask after the demonstrations? Or... is it just going to be us disabled people again? Because they're banning masks here in NC

Global synchronous crop failures are predicted to happen very regularly in the near future due to climate change. Climate change is the most powerful issue we face in the food supply
If any farm workers/people working with animals need PPE please contact a mask bloc! They will likely have access to thousands of masks to share. It would usually be prohibitively expensive if you had to purchase your own 1 or 2 new masks per day
if H5N1 takes off in humans odds are it's going to hit farm workers - underpaid, frequently undocumented - first and hardest, and we probably won't know for several months. (even if people are brave enough to risk going to seek healthcare)

Watching documentaries of the event playing out it's striking how there are virtually only firefighters at the scene, despite there being soo many cops in the city that could have arrived

Thinking of the state of Saxony sharing their vaccination progress but it was really just one guy

There is a huge huge issue with racism against North African people in France, and it almost certainly contributed to the situation where their boss used their natural hair against them. Showing this picture is weird and irrelevant

These people look down on people who were "just following orders" during the nazi regime but immediately defend people who enforce trans & abortion criminalization. The fact they'd defend a fully voluntary act like applying to & performing a violent job for years feels worse tbh
Brain damage from COVID is just one of the struggles. Maybe it affects behavior but it only adds fuel to a fire that's already burning. People are trying to survive without any support or experience of solidarity–seems obvious that selfishness would be a protective action.

If that's well-known then people who do & permit SA at home would be even less restrained when there's less oversight abroad. If the reach is this great then everyone involved in military activities becomes complicit. (And this is just one subset of their anti-societal violence!)
@Moonbae222
Being autistic means that sometimes you don't learn the unspoken rules & you might say insensitive things, but once you've been told they're wrong to say, being autistic is so much more likely to make you NOT say them after that since we can have very binary moral thinking!
To fix this we urgently need radical solidarity.
I understand it's really hard to want to be in solidarity with people who ignored your lived reality.
I think it's okay to just work within the overlap and not become friends or anything just recognize that you have a shared fate!
Some members of the COVID conscious community are vicious and try to tear you apart at any perceived misstep. Getting COVID is not a moral failing. Masking doesn't automatically grant you saint status. Getting the vaccine doesn't make you a better person.
@julcarm
I also assume they aren't planning to pay you for the time left on the work trip?
You should make them say in writing whether or not that's the case because that seems illegal also!
@unicornthorn
This is so messed up I'm sorry!! I have a lot of allergies and I've NEVER had the prescribing doctors look at the list before trying to give me meds. I had to fight while halfway into anaesthia to tell them not to give me diazepam because I'm a slow metabolize. They argued w/me!
@gravebabe1917
And! His son John Brown Jr. met Charles Jennison, joined his 7th Kansas Cavalry Regiment "Jennison's Jayhawkers" & participated in holding a huge area against slave captors & did guerrilla warfare against MO slaveowners. IMO this KS movement forced Lincoln into abolition
Help us cover the cost of N95 mask purchase (at the amazing rate of ~$0.16/mask!) and distro of these and the 3M kn95 masks we have to other blocs and communities in our region!

So to address COVID China decided to sacrifice some of their economy, the US and other "let it rip" nations decided to sacrifice human lives.
China's economy can grow back, but the US has decided to fix our problem with forced births. Can't tell which one is worse!!
@TheMemeticist
It might have been more similar to covid than we think, cardiovascular deaths continued dramatically after the first big flu peaks and graveyards are full of tombstones 1918~1925. I suspect it caused immune issues too, esp w/strep A
@HelenBranswell
@bridget857
To what end?? Do you stop washing your hands after using the bathroom whenever you're well?? Do you take off your seat belt when it feels safe??
I have been waiting for Novavax because I had guillain-barré symptoms from the mRNA vaccines. But you're not supposed to get vaccines within 3 months of covid infection! We deserve better vaccines and antivirals!! (cont.)
@audisdead
They fully just ignore intersectionality & solidarity because... they don't want to look like a try-hard? they want to keep having fun despite hurting others? they never cared about solidarity or intersectionality??
I don't get it! What cowardly behavior.

Yeah creating nudes is easier, but creating good and valuable nudes is an art like any photography--everyone can take pictures so is photography less meaningful than music?
America was built explicitly off the exploitation of the vulnerable during unmitigated spread of disease. I think y'all must be feeling patriotic as you support the ongoing pandemic by being unmasked!
I'm part of a mask bloc & work to take up slack for the govt to ensure that all people can get effective masks. Masks are the most important tool we have right now! (However, we deserve so much better!)
@BUNNlCULA
Dang I was stung by a bark scorpion and all I got were severe muscle spasms and numbness, pineal gland remains dormant sadly.
Maybe she's trying to make money to buy shoes??
Though I think it happens with everything. I remeber people particularly doing this with environmentalists when I was a kid. So maybe people are always being condescending towards activists because they want to think the alarm is overblown
Post-polio syndrome affects 25-40% polio survivors, with devastating motor neuron disease symptoms starting ~15-40 years after initial infection.
Possibly 75,000-150,000 polio survivors in the US have or will have PPS
A lotta ridiculous replies here! Vaccines can help limit symptoms but don't provide immunity. And some may have problematic interactions w/immunity to different variants in combo w/previous infection making their efficacy complicated. Any vaccine can cause adverse effects (cont.)
Hey disabled folks who have gotten COVID, could you share your experiences of having it on top of other serious illness or disability?
I'm sure it's been rough but I am curious how people are generally dealing with it when already sick
#NEISvoid
Our neighbors just cut down all their trees in their yard and yesterday we had an inch of water inside part of our house from the storms. If the flooding effect was that drastic just at my house the consequences of losing a forest will be severe!!
Entirely predictable. It’s our duty to make sure those impacted know why the flooding is happening and know we can collectively reverse course by unseating the powers that have driven this project
@RealGayArbys
The fact that everyone has learned about how to get n95s through word of mouth or personal social media connections rather than public health is wild. Honestly it's a miracle that as many people wear high quality masks as they do!
@stefkaufman
Therapy worked to help me understand my neurodivergence and learn to unmask. It also helped to identify what was a symptom of a physical illness vs. neurodivergence vs. life being difficult.
I am lucky that my therapist isn't focused on making me more employable

Heating the water is also useful for creating a heat sink, which stores the thermal energy & radiates it back out slowly at person height. The candle normally just sends a column of heat straight up to the ceiling where no one can feel it. Both setups work to "rearrange" heat
@srmilesauthor
IB booted me since I didn't have parents to help fulfill the community service requirements & other special projects. Many gifted programs are impossible for people who raise themselves.
I appreciate accelerated learning opportunities in k-6 because I wasn't learning otherwise
We don't socialize without n95s, we don't eat w/other people, we always wear them in shared spaces. However, there may be outdoor distance transmission or transmission through shared work HVAC.
I've had lymphocytopenia from these infections, increasing risk.
(cont.)
They said they "can't" wear them because: "it doesn't fit or seal properly" "an n95 would be more dangerous for patients if we do have covid" “need a reason to wear one (immunocompromised does not count apparently!!)"
