Skullcap baicalensis (Chinese Skullcap) & compounds found in Glycyrrhiza glabra (Licorice root) in particular have been studied in their ability to prevent histamine release. In the future, these herbs could be utilized as a natural antihistamine to be used during allergy season.

H5N1 exclusively infects ciliated cells. When the cilia are infected they are killed. Cilia’s purpose is to move mucus upwards so you can get it out of your lungs, and without them, mucus accumulates in the lungs.
