1. start by tricking your brain: practice portion control by filling a small dish to the brim instead of half filling a larger dish, it will give you the illusion of eating more and you will be easily satisfied, extra points if you have small utensils
2. it's important to slowly lower your intake! going from 1,500 to 500 cals in a 2-3 days will likely end in a binge as your body isn't used to maintaining on such a drastic decrease. taking your time in decreasing your intake will help lower your appetite and avoid cravings
3. good appetite suppressants! going into a calorie deficit is bound to come with hunger. personally, i've had the best results with black coffee, garcinia cambogia capsules, and concentrated green tea capsules. all of these options are natural and gut healthy!
2. (cont') giving time for your body to adjust will also prevent you from clinging onto fat as your body thinks it's entering a phase of starvation. sources recommend taking about 7-10 days to lower your intake
4. supplements. as we all know, food = energy. by increasing your energy levels with supplements, your body will endure less hunger and cravings. my personal recommendations: b12, probiotics (gut health), vitamin D, fish oil, vitamin C
7. avoid buying foods that kick start binges. don't give yourself the option to make a bad choice, when grocery shopping don't think that "this time
you will control yourself ", assume the worst and make a healthy choice. you can't binge on what you don't have
5. make healthy choices! always opt for high fibre & high protein! and remember that healthy fats โ enemy. protein + healthy fats stimulate ketosis! cutting on carbs is a great way of reducing your appetite as you stay full longer. A high fibre diet stimulates digestion.
8. eat slowly, give your brain the time to relay the message that you are satisfied. a good trick is to set down your utensils as you chew, only picking them up again when you've swallowed. by doing this, you will see noticeable changes in your overall satisfaction.
6. (cont') once you are comfortable with this and see less cravings , now you can start fasting for multiple days at a time and you'll look forward to the phases of clear-mindedness and energy boosts caused by ketosis
5. (cont') consuming carbs, especially sugar, won't satisfy you for very long. remember that sugar is also highly addictive! "there are neurochemical changes in the brain when we overeat sugar that are similar to addictions to drugs, like alcohol or morphine."
6. fasting. for many people, fasting is difficult. you can't just jump into a 96 hour fast with no experience. get your body used to ketosis (burning stored fat for energy instead of carbs) with intermittent fasting, only eating in a small time frame of the day.
9. exercise: working out will train your body to create a healthy dependence on food for energy, instead of food for pleasure. using your intake for exercise will create a pattern based on energy spent, it's also a great way to derive serotonin from something other than food
1. putting in the time
this is by far the most important thing to remember, nothing will happen if you only put in the effort 1-2 days a week. consistency is key
2. dream body (1/3)
I wasn't even going to mention it, since we are on edtwt, but a cal deficit can lead you to your dream bod, along with some workouts and healthy eating. no matter what your deficit is, try to eat nutritional and filling foods.
2. dream body (3/3)
even if you are staying within your deficit, unhealthy high fat/carb foods lead to bloating, acne, fatigue, and won't keep you full (also skinny fat ๐ซฃ). be sure to also include daily exercise, wether it's walking or going to the gym.
my friend just offered me mini eggs and i DECLINED and painfully watched her eat them but i was NOT gonna let a little chocolate egg break my fast.
everybody clap plz
2. dream body (2/3)
antioxidants & fruits help with puffiness and bloating, aswell as clear up skin. fibre & vegetables help with healthy bowl movements. high protein foods (chicken, fish, eggs) keep you full for longer and are filled with energy.
fast update: i'm on day two, its currently 2pm and i'm not feeling hungry yet cause i had a black coffee (0 cals) might have another one later to curb that 9pm hunger ๐ฝ
3. healthy mind (2/2)
some of my personal favs: anything goes, the run through with vogue, pretty lonesome, and trying not to care (all on spotify&apple music). do the things you like, even if it doesn't feel productive, it is! it's important to put time into your hobbies
3. healthy mind (1/2)
exercise can also help with mental health, just going outside for a walk can brighten your day. also, you can find an encouraging podcast that works for you, and puts you in a good mood. it can be about anything, even educative podcasts
4. good sleep!! (1/2)
a good sleep schedule will make ALL the difference. trust me. what works best for me: 11pm-8am. I've always had trouble with sleeping but once you find the right meds to put you in a good sleep schedule, it comes naturally. I take 2-3 melatonin gummies
@tipsyteacake
i've been making protein hot chocolate since last fall it's sooo yum except i wouldn't recommend the soy based protein tastes kinda off as a hot chocolate:/
6. making time for yourself
this has worked wonders for me, even as a type of therapy. putting more time into self care is one of my favourite things. a bath with candles, journaling, face masks, hair masks, etc. not to mention that ppl can rly tell when u put in the time โก
4. good sleep!! (2/2)
benefits of good sleep: less puffy face, more productive, weight loss (digestive system can work properly on a routine and also your liver/kidneys time to flush out toxins and reduce water weight), clear skin, and no late night binges!
5. dressing up
putting together an outfit you love and feel good in for the day can make a huge difference. personally, it gives me more motivation to go to class and also to go out and run errands. you also look so much better in some well thought through fits ๐โน เฃช
i want to make a gc with my moots where we can just girl and support eachother plz plz plz who wants to be part of it ๐ฆขโ๏ธ๐ซ

8. nails (2/2)
learning how to do your own nail art is very rewarding, might be a little rough at first so stick to the basics, then you can upgrade a bit as your skills evolve ๐โหโน
fresh and clean nails are a key step in glowing up ๐ซง
p.s. find a nail shape that suits you!
fasting/high res tip: wear an outfit that would easily show you're bloated like low waisted jeans and a tight top, i wear this at work and the fear of looking bloated stops me from eating (i work at a restaurant and always get offered leftovers/free food) it definitely helps!!
my roommate is so nice she made me a rice, chicken, and veggie bowl and said here u need to eat (i have no groceries atm) and brought it to my room but i'm fasting so i had to throw it away discreetly i feel so bad and i hate wasting food ๐ญ๐ญ
11. makeup
find a makeup routine that fits your face, everyone is unique! examine your facial features and do your contour, eyeliner, and lip liner accordingly. finding the right colour blush and eyeshadow (if u wear them) is also very important. have fun with it!
back at it again, i'm doing a shorter one cause i got an exam wednesday and i don't want brain fog:) (if ur wondering why it starts at 3am i was drinking wine)
10. clean room, clean mind
keeping your surroundings clean, neat, and orderly can make your life a lot easier. it is essential for productivity and wellbeing. organization is key
thank you for your interest in my thread ๐ยฐโโ.เณเฟ*:๏ฝฅ comment any other ideas you'd like me to make into a thread xxx good luck on your summer bodies girlies หโ๐ผหโน ๐ฆน โบ๏ฝกยฐ

7. hair care
as a follow up for self care, finding products that make your hair healthier and more radiant is a big step in "glowing up". rosemary oil, vitamin E gummies, castor oil, rice water, etc are all good and affordable products
sometimes i spend too much time on edtwt and then go on instagram and i have to refrain myself from being too honest ab what's going on in my brain ๐ตโ๐ซ
9. smelling good (1/2)
ALWAYS be the best smelling person in the room, deodorant, perfume, hair mist, scented body moisturizer, all very important. and plz don't go and buy completely different fragrances for everything, all the combined smells will end up smelling nauseating
8. nails (1/2)
getting your nails done is always so fun and makes you look more put together. however, it can also be expensive, so if you don't want to get them done all the time, invest in builder gel (helps with nail growth) and safe nail polishes.
