I will always insist that #GodotEngine animation system is one, if not the, most advanced across all engines. Regardless, it's my favorite feature. You can use an AnimationTree node to create complex expressions that will trigger transitions between animations. Just like coding.

It looks small, but this is the very core of my design for asynchronous worlds. With that, players can log in and out of a game with a world that can run independently from the players. So multiple players can share the same world. Wait for it. #GodotEngine #indiedev #gamedev

Quick tip if plan to have multiple inputs on your #GodotEngine game: apply the Command pattern. I used it to debug the enemy's behavior using buttons. Since they share the same base class with players, I mapped the player actions to screen buttons using the same Commands!

For you statistics nerds, after Chapter 10 Debugging and Profiling the Network, I add charts comparing the before and after the optimizations we make. For instance, in Chapter 13 Caching Data, we use #GodotEngine Monitors to see how caching improves network usage!

I just finished a very raw iteration of my SceneBundler tool for @godotengine It bundles the scene with all its dependencies in a "Bundle" folder which you can copy and paste in the new project and run my other Batch Dependency Fixer tool to fix the dependency paths.

Using the Command pattern to design enemy's behavior is pretty nice. I mapped the Commands to these buttons. The same Commands will be used by the Brain node to create the enemy's AI. I can delete the debug buttons and everything will still work! #GodotEngine #GameDevelopment

This was the easiest way I found to stop tweens with the new tween system. I paused them all because I DON'T HAVE A REFERENCE TO THE ONE I ACTUALLY WANT TO PAUSE. This stops tweens that have nothing to do with this behavior. So much better now. I love it! 🙄

The Strategy pattern is but a snippet of its user class' code, called context class. Everything it needs is in the context class. In #GodotEngine , you don't necessarily have to inherit any built-in class. So you can instantiate it directly from a GDScript file using `new()`

@reduzio People be like: "MORE PERFORMANCE PLS" while: 1. Very questionable if their game really needs to squeeze resources like that 2. They likely didn't optimize it using some standard techniques themselves 3. If performance was such an issue there's C++ Really can't understand that

I'm working on a Level Design plugin for @NathanGDquest it is basically a docker where you can throw some .tscn and spam them in the SceneTree, but really eases the designing workflow, it is very rough by now, but the main functionality is there #godotengine #gamedev #opensource
