"After Edey's gesture, Keady doffed his hat for the crowd and shook his piece of the net. It was a moment 44 years in the making."
Good stuff from

on Matt Painter and Gene Keady.
People don’t talk about the worst part of being a sports photographer:
I have no memory of the games I’ve photographed. Completely blank. No idea what happened.
the egos sometimes are too big in the creative industry.
get a good shot? great, that's your job - that's what they pay you to do.
praise others, stop praising yourself.
I’m starting to think DK doesn’t know a whole lot about
photographers…. (especially how to treat them with respect, seeing as he’s gone through about 19 the last 8 years)
I realized I hadn't updated my website in a while, so I took the opportunity to add some of this year's Final Four run to the basketball section. Check it out!

Meant to showcase this earlier, but the cropping power of cameras these days is just plain insane:
(Expand to see the original frame vs. the crop)
1/2500, f1.8 @ ISO2000 on A1+135mm w/ f1.8 GM
Can’t believe this needs to be said, but if you’re a fan with a sideline pass, that’s not a pass to pull the opposing team photographer aside and insult them.
Grow up.
I think there's a prevailing notion in photography that for images to be really good, they need a ton of post-processing editing done. I strongly disagree.
The best images are 99% complete straight out of the camera.
😂😂😂😂 I’m pretty sure if the team bus broke down in the rain Mason Gillis would tell the rest of the team to stay on the bus and would push it the rest of the way. People are stupid.

has a pretty great ring to it don't you think?
Sad this is my last week with MLB Photos but thrilled for this next adventure!

The weird thing about selling stock photography is that you that know you sold something, but you have no idea where it's being used unless you see it in the wild....

Someone asked me the other day for advice on applying to photography jobs. I would say 95% of your application's success rests strictly on your portfolio.
A few of my rules:
1) Instagram is not a portfolio. Have a website.
2) Make it silly easy to navigate. (on mobile too!)
