Out of beer. My greatest love and my greatest enemy. Woke this morning knowing I was out. I am out of resources to get more. I start drinking in the early morning right after coffee. The shakes are bad right now. I am here because i don't have anyone else that understands.

3 days sober. Really have to say thanks to everyone that reached out. I am pretty isolated on an island and there are no meetings. The anxiety is bad today. I can hear my brain kicking in with nasty stuff. Well another walk it is, if this keeps up I am going to need new shoes.

@SargeSargento My daughter is 22, she has recently been diagnosed with a rare heart condition. Her mother and i have no underlying health conditions. Her Dr. Told her as long as she " stays up to date on her vaccines and wears a mask she might be ok". I don't even know what to say. I am broken

Well, 30 days alcohol free. The money savings is good. Thing about the promises is they only come true if I do the work. I say alcohol free because I have been still smoking weed. I guess I am not ready to completely give myself to a simple way of life. Just being honest.

4 days now. I joined a zoom meeting this morning. It just felt like home for the first time in a very long time. "Seek to comfort rather than be comforted" really stuck with me. I don't know if any of you are real on here but I like it. I get ALOT of strength feeling not so alone

@CelticNotorious My mom died last year. She was in a home. I was able to come and say good bye but she was unconscious and on her way out. I wasn't able to visit with her because of the lockdowns. This video is especially hard for me. Heartbreaking. All she wanted was touch.

I have been metal detecting for a long time. It's a great hobby. Doesn't cost much, in fact I have made a little money at it. This is one of my favorite finds, a native copper spear tip. In case that interests you.

Small moments of joy beginning. Haven't felt happy for a very long time, just depressed, drunk and angry and fearful. Found myself laughing at something yesterday. Haven't used those muscles in a long time. I still got it though!

I've been living on a sailboat for 4 years now. Drinking most of that time. Good thing that I learned in that time is I am fine on my own. Bad part for recovery is that I am fine on my own. I want to be better than "fine".

@Curse_of_Ham It comes and goes. Mostly just the shakes and sweaty. Did alot to stay busy today so I am hoping for a good night sleep. If I wake in the a.m. it will be 1 day sober for me. Been a long time for that. Physically it feels shitty but something in my heart feels a little hope.

Well I made in to the doctor to get some meds to help with the shakes. Seem to be helping alot. I know this just the beginning and I have lots of work to do. I understand that abstaining from alcohol has some great perks health, financial etc. But the real work is yet to come. 🤜

@dr_cartland I have always been the black sheep of the family. My mom died fall of 2021. My dad asked me if I was jabed up before the funeral. I said no. My aunt was spraying sanitizer on me at the door. I saw a look in their faces I will never forget. I found a new family.

@NatashaMontreal So well said Thank you for that. My mom died in late 2021, she was in a home. I was allowed to see her one last time in the hospital. Worst part was how I felt I was treated by my family for not being "up to date". That part is still hard to swallow.
