I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again - if you’ve bothered to show up for the support act, why not consider shutting your cakehole and seeing if you actually like the sounds they’re making? Especially if they’ve travelled hundreds of miles? If you don’t like it then - cool.

Last time I got a completely independent DIY album into the UK Top 40 ( #24 ), the PR company I was working with told me it wasn't a story, and they still weren't able to get me any coverage. It's happening again minus PR - if you want to write about fan power in 2023 msg me!

Waking up to the new reality of my album being in the charts has been bloody lovely, I have to say. Just got told "Exotic Monsters" is #10 in the sales chart (that's minus streaming) which is a testament to people investing in music. Thank you!

My careers advisor at school said I could "probably" be a secretary. I did work experience at the local bus station as an "information assistant", basically telling people what time the buses were due (pre-smartphones but not pre-eyes). Now I make my own music full-time :)

I remember being played "Ghost Town" in my GCSE music class and talking through why it was so brilliant. It was a life changing lesson for a young person who didn't yet know what she could become. What a band, what an artist, what a legacy. RIP Terry Hall x

Ageing is a gift. I'm 42 in June. In my 30s I never said my age online or in interviews; I thought I'd be harshly judged for not "making it" earlier. When I turned 40 I realised I didn't care any more, so I talk about it. But *every time* someone argues and says it can't be true.

One year ago today me & @rat_ned put an album out called "One In A Thousand" under the name Obey Robots. Music fans put it in the Official UK Album Chart at #14 , and we were #1 in the Indies! Numbers like those are very nice, but I'd love to hear what the album means to you.

Today is getting my shit together to record most of an album by the end of the month day. The Obey Robots LP is happening, the first record I’ll have ever made without my Benjidog sitting / snoozing by my side. Now we’ll find out if they were his songs all along…
