I like to run alone. I guess I’m a bit of a loner, and I have enough clutter in my imagination to keep me company for an hour or so each day. Solo running suits me fine until I suddenly feel unmotivated, tired, sick of myself, and depressed.

These two incredible Punks headed out on separate runs yesterday as part for Virtual Run Club and ended up running a spontaneous marathon each! They connected via a phone call during the run and chatted and supported each other throughout to achieve an impressive 26.2 mile VRC!

Running Chat! A few weeks ago Jon from @idlesband took me on his morning run around Bristol Harbour. Jon started running during lockdown and he's a real natural. I could have jogged in the sun with him all day. Here's a video of us chatting & loving life!

Update!!! I saw my 73 year old friend on my run this morning. He stopped me and said “I had no idea you were Jimmy Watkins! I used to love watching you racing!” I explained that running with him had cheered me up and he said “good, now go run a four minute mile!”

This morning I signed up for a 10 mile race in Llanelli. It was pretty tough with the first five miles being all uphill, but I loved it and was delighted to come away with the win! 💜

I had a great time running around Swansea for the Swansea Half Marathon. I just managed to get below 1.19, and I felt good doing it! At the start of the year I was way off this type of running, so I genuinely am delighted with how this morning went!

CARDIFF HALF Today was beautiful! As I walked back to my car following the Cardiff Half, I saw a friend who'd been watching the race. He said that he couldn't believe how many Running Punks that he saw taking part. He reckons he saw 50+ but I think there were more!
