Hi. I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if you do a swab and it comes back abnormal then it is your responsibility to manage the result. Calling the patient telling them to phone the gp for treatment is not managing the result.

Anyone in GP land ever responded to adult without swallowing problems saying “I can’t take tablets” by offering an appointment with the practice nurse to teach them how to take pills? I hadn’t, which seems odd to me now!

@KarateJoe12 Well said. The greater injustice is increasing use of ANPs (and other professionals) at significantly lower pay to doctors whilst often performing similar roles and responsibilities. Vast majority of doctors career will be at higher pay grade regardless of relative merit.

Seems unlikely we will get to BMA estimate of 25 consultation safe limit per day. Perhaps we should ask patients to sign a waiver if they insist on being seen outside of these limits? Would it be legally watertight, no. But it would be something perhaps.

Anyone know why catheter care post discharge is so often very poor? Many times have an otherwise very well written discharge summary but no mention of catheter (why put in, any follow up arranged/twoc clinic/community referral).

@DrGoblin3 It’s more beneficial to mums I think and the baby checks often 2ndary. Pick up rate for pathology in baby is low given that same checks happen in hospital perinatally. Holistically is often very worthwhile re safeguarding, signposting and supporting mum and baby together.
