I’ve had to watch the evolution of my 3-year-old’s understanding of #ALS and it’s heartbreaking. "Daddy, did I get you sick?" she asked last night. "No sweetie." Then she fired the million dollar question, "Well, how did you get sick then?" “Nobody knows sweetie. Nobody knows."

When the pulmonologist gave us her initially grave prognosis, my normally stoic wife started crying and that’s when I got scared. But then my dad stared into my eyes and said convincingly "you gotta fight man." And that’s when I went to that place. And I’m still there. (4/4)

The morning after I was diagnosed with #ALS , my wife @JamieLW8 told me she didn’t sleep at all. Among the hundreds of things running through her head was our unborn daughter’s name to be. It was she who first decided we would fight the 2-5 year prognosis I was just handed [1/2]

… a different experimental antiviral because it was being a little harsh on the liver. So yea, we went full nuclear on this thing. Everyone agreed there wasn’t wiggle room to miss out on any potential life saving therapy (if only #ALS were treated like that)! So what now? (2/3)
