***KATHARINE OF ARAGON FESTIVAL 2023***
DID YOU KNOW?
Visitors often lay a pomegranate at the site of Katharine's tomb. The fruit was an ancient symbol of fertility and regeneration. In the Christian church, it was also a sign of Christ's resurrection.

We have had 20,000 visitors to Tim Peake's Spacecraft since it landed here on 11 August! If you want to see what all the fuss is about, come along and see for yourself. It's a spectacular experience and it's here until 5 November.
We've had thousands of visitors to see Tim Peake's Spacecraft already, but the best outfit so far is definitely from Ben, aged 8. Doesn't he look great?!
@astro_timpeake
, watch out – there's a new astronaut on the way!

Also, Peterborough cathedral is absolutely stunning. The roof in particular. Made from German oak in the early 13th century. Only narrowly escaped total destruction in 2001 after a fire. Had the fire brigade been 15 mins later, like Notre Dame it’d have been gone.
A small blue token of our great big thanks to NHS workers, care home staff and all key workers for what they do on our behalf every day. Thank you.

The Cathedral has been lit to mark Ukraine's Independence Day as we think of those suffering in Ukraine and Ukrainians living both in Peterborough and across the world. All those involved are in our thoughts and prayers.

So many people love our Cathedral but are unaware of its remarkable story. As entry at the moment is restricted to private prayer only, we thought we'd share the history of one of the finest Norman Cathedrals in England – .
Lovely to see so many here for carols at lunchtime today! Big thanks to Travelex for sponsoring the mulled wine & mince pies afterwards

Because she was in exile at Kimbolton Castle when she died, and Peterborough was the nearest grand abbey - fit for a royal princess (as Henry now saw her) - but not too close to London where many people still saw her as queen
Peterborough Cathedral is for everyone....even giraffes, elephants and lions! One of our favourite pictures of the year from last night's NHS charity carols concert at the Cathedral, which recognised the incredible work that all NHS staff undertake throughout the year.
