I'm back home with virtually no pain. I still have 8 radiation treatments but this will fix the spine tumor. I still have to deal with the kidney tumor, but at least no pain and a good start. I had the best sleep in weeks last night.

I spent the night at Virginia Hospital Center. My Oncologist wanted to get treatment started immediately. I'm on the 7th floor. It's devoted to Kaiser Permanente patients. I have a beautiful private room and Sunny could sleep here on a couch. A Kaiser doctor is on call here. I

Anyone telling you that Winter is over is just as wrong as those telling you it's not. That's particularly true when they base their conclusion on a +300 hour model temperature map. This is GFS at 2pm March 4 over 4 runs. Winter will be over when it's over.

Despite the diagnosis, I had a good day today. I greatly appreciate all the well wishes. I had improved mobility today. I'm only using pain meds at bedtime to help sleep. I spent time at my desktop computer because my office chair is very comfortable. A good break from TV.

I've been cleared to start oral cancer medication again. This attacks kidney tumors specifically. I have to take it every 12 hours. Since it can be absorbed thru the skin, Sunny has to avoid contact. My 1st dose was at 9pm tonight.🤞 Hoping no side effects.

A suspect a few who follow me won't like this, but the I95 issue was partly caused by a failure of meteorology. Media meteorologists only took this storm seriously about 24hrs out. You need to prepare people 72hrs out. I was poo pooed by a few 72hrs out.

I'm being discharged again. I have things to take home to increase lung function. The BP spike was the result of a steroid prescribed by the oncologist. She is going to adjust the dose based on weekly blood tests. We have a plan!

I'm still waiting to start chemo. At the moment I'm waiting for the orders. It will include a daily oral medication to attack the kidney tumor and an infusion every 21 days to deal with any other tumors that might have escaped detection. My mobility has improved but I do get

The most exciting thing about early next week in my mind is that monster NAO block that is west based, not east like the previous ones this winter, and finally a ridge out west. Now ideally, you’d like that ridge farther east. But the strength of the -NAO may make up for that.

This is a microburst (official term downburst). It's a sudden rush of air downward. It carries massive amounts of rain/hail with it. When it hits the ground, it splatters like an egg falling on a tile floor. Wind will change direction and speed (up to 100mph).
